Blues vs Wild Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
No bet on the Blues at +140. The market makes Minnesota a 60.0% winner, we make it 57.3%, and a 2.7-point gap is not enough.
The Minnesota Wild are -166 and the St. Louis Blues +140 at DraftKings. With the margin taken out, that is 60.0% for the Wild and 40.0% for the Blues. Our number gives St. Louis 42.7%. Both numbers have Minnesota as a clear favourite and differ only on by how much.
How 57.3% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of the home team’s 2025-26 win rate in its own rink and the visitor’s 2025-26 loss rate on the road. Wins in overtime or a shootout count as wins. Games at a neutral site are in neither half, and neither team had one.
The Wild went 23-10-8 at home, 23 wins against 10 regulation losses and 8 after regulation, a 56.1% home win rate over 41 games. The Blues went 17-19-5 on the road and lost 24 of 41, a 58.5% road loss rate. The midpoint is 57.3% for Minnesota and 42.7% for St. Louis.
Those two halves agree with each other, which is why the number lands near the price. A home side that won a little over half its games meets a visitor that lost a little under three in five on the road.
The margin is what a book builds into both sides so the pair comes to more than 100%. Here -166 and +140 come to 104.1%. Without it, the Wild are 60.0% and the Blues 40.0%.
Every figure in our number is from 2025-26: 41 home games for Minnesota and 41 road games for St. Louis. Nothing in it reflects the summer or this season. Both teams played on Tuesday: the Blues won 7-2 in Ottawa, and the Wild lost 5-2 in Winnipeg. Those games are not in the figures.
Minnesota at home, St. Louis on the road
The Wild at home scored 3.17 a game and allowed 2.80, a surplus of 0.37. The Blues on the road scored 2.80 and allowed 3.22, a deficit of 0.42.
Home ice did not change Minnesota’s win rate at all. The Wild went 23-14-4 on the road, the same 56.1% as at home, and scored more there, 3.46 a game against 3.05 allowed. The Blues were 20-14-7 at home, a 48.8% win rate, scoring 2.83 and allowing 3.07. The method reads only the Wild’s home half and the Blues’ road half.
Minnesota was the better team over the season by a distance. The Wild finished 46-24-12 with 104 points and outscored opponents by 32. In the playoffs they beat Dallas 4-2 and lost 4-1 to Colorado. The Blues finished 37-33-12 with 86 points, were outscored by 27, and did not make the playoffs.
The Wild were hard to beat in tight games: 20-5-12 in one-goal games, and 15 wins in the 27 that went past 60 minutes. The Blues won only 4 of 16 that went to overtime or a shootout and went 18-9-12 in one-goal games. By two goals or more, Minnesota won 26 of its 46 and St. Louis 19 of its 37.
The Blues won two of the three meetings in 2025-26. Only one was in Minnesota, a 3-1 St. Louis win on 1 March, and that is the only meeting in our number: one of the Wild’s 41 home games and one of the Blues’ 41 road games. The two in St. Louis, a 5-0 Wild win on 9 October and a 6-3 Blues win on 13 April, sit in neither half.
Pick: No bet on the Blues +140
Pass on the moneyline. The gap is 2.7 points toward St. Louis, against a threshold of 5.

What changes it
A real move toward the Blues’ price. Against the Wild at -166, St. Louis at +165 would clear the bar. At +166 or longer it is a bet whatever Minnesota is priced at.
For the Wild to become the bet, their price would have to come out to -109 or longer. They are -166.
The other unknown is the lineups. This page states nothing about who plays for either team on 15 October. Check before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 5.5, over -122 and under +102. The Wild’s games went over 5.5 in 50 of 82, the Blues’ in 39 of 82. Minnesota’s home games averaged 5.97 goals and St. Louis’s road games 6.02.
Those over rates, 61.0% and 47.6%, average 54.3%. The over at -122 is priced at 52.6% with the margin out. The gap is 1.7 points. Pass on the total.
The puck line is where the figures part from the price. The Wild are -1.5 at +150 and the Blues +1.5 at -180, which is 38.4% and 61.6% once the margin is removed. Minnesota won by two goals or more in 26 of 82 games, and St. Louis lost by two or more in 24 of 82. Averaged, Wild -1.5 lands 30.5% of the time against 38.4% priced. That is 7.9 points toward Blues +1.5. Our method bets the moneyline only, so on the puck line a gap this size is a lean: Blues +1.5 at -180. The call on the game stays no bet.
