Week 5 is in full swing and the NFL will hold its third of seven International Games this weekend. Following the success in Brazil (Week 1) and last week’s game in Germany, the NFL returns to London, England, for a matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns.
Cleveland (1-3) is considered the “home team” for this matchup and have made the expected switch at QB by benching Joe Flacco for rookie Dillon Gabriel.
The Vikings (2-2) will continue to ride the throwing arm of backup QB Carson Wentz who is 1-1 so far. The big concern for Minnesota is that three members of the starting offensive line will be out for this game.
With that said, let’s dive deeper into the latest NFL International Game odds, courtesy of the top sports betting sites, and make our Week 5 NFL picks for the Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns.
Viewing note, this game will begin at 9:30am ET, 6:30am on the West Coast, and air live on the NFL Network.

NFL International Game Matchup
These two NFL Teams have played against each other 17 times and it’s the Minnesota Vikings that hold a commanding 12-5 lead in this series. However the Cleveland Browns have won two of the last three meetings, which includes their most recent game. That took place in 2021, and the Browns won 14-7.
The Vikings are 5-2 on the road in this series and have won two games in a row. The Browns have not won a home game over Minnesota since 2017.
NFL International Games Predictions
Let’s take a look at the full slate of NFL International games and make our NFL picks for each game.
Minnesota Vikings NFL International Game
The Minnesota Vikings offense has been erratic at best. The first two weeks saw J.J. McCarthy show promise and growing pains. Then Carson Wentz has filled in the last two weeks, following McCarthy’s injury.
While the team has produced 25.5 ppg, which is 10th best, they are in the bottom third for total yards, rushing yards and passing yards. Making things worse is that Minnesota turns the ball over 1.8 times per game (28th) and gives up the most sacks in the NFL. The team also has the second most penalties per game (9.3).
If it weren’t for the aggressive defense, Minnesota could be winless on the season. This team gives up 20 ppg (9), 281 yards per game (6), and is no.3 against the pass at 151.5 ypg. Their weakness is in the running game where they allow 130.3 ypg. That puts them as the 9th most in the NFL.
The Vikings lost to the Steelers in Germany last week, but are two weeks removed from the destruction of the Bengals (48-10).
Cleveland Browns NFL International Game
The Cleveland Browns have been one of the worst teams in the NFL, especially on the offensive side of the ball. They score the second fewest points (14.0 ppg), 6th fewest yards (279.8), and score the third fewest TDs per game (1.5). This has led to a QB change from Joe Flacco to rookie Dillon Gabriel.
He will be under constant pressure with this blitzing Minnesota defense. Fortunately, the offensive line has held up for the most part by not giving up many sacks. I expect the more mobile Gabriel to scramble more, which was something that Flacco can’t do.
Quinshon Judkins has looked good in his first two games back. He provides more explosiveness in the backfield. With a new QB that can extend plays, I expect this Cleveland offense to look much better than they have over the first four weeks.
The Vikings defense gives up 130.3 rushing yards per game, which should give a nice boost to the Cleveland running game.
Where I think the Browns will find success on defense is in the trenches. With Minnesota missing three offensive linemen, the Browns will cause a lot of problems for the Vikings.
Cleveland has the third best sack rate and the Vikings give up the most sacks. That’s going to be tough for Wentz in London. Also, the Browns are first against the run at 70.3 ypg.
The awesome Lions run offense only put up 109 yards last week. If Cleveland had any offense, they could’ve made that game a lot closer on the scoreboards. This week, I expect them to do so.
Who Is Winning The NFL International Game?
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think the Browns can win this game. Well, that’s only if Gabriel isn’t worse than Flacco. And, I don’t see that happening.
The Browns defense will keep this game close as they harass Wentz all game long, force turnovers, and shut down Minnesota’s run game.
Offensively, the Browns should find success running the ball, which will help the rookie QB. With that said, I like the spread more than the moneyline. But since we have to pick a winner, I am going with Gabriel and company!
Bet: Cleveland Browns (+168), Browns +3.5 (-110), Total (pass)
NFL International Game Prop Bets
Let’s take a look at some of the best Player props and Game prop bets for this NFL International Game:
Carson Wentz Passing Yards
- Over 199.5 yards (-105)
- Under 199.5 yards (-125)
Last week, Carson Wentz threw for 350 yards against the Steelers. I don’t see that happening against the Browns. The most yards that Cleveland allowed to an opposing QB was Lamar Jackson (225 yards). And, Wentz is no Jackson.
On the season, Minnesota averages 184.8 passing yards per game, and the Browns allow just 152.3 ypg. Take the Under.
Bet: Under 199.5 yards (-125)
Jordan Mason Rushing Yards
- Over 67.5 yards (Even)
- Under 67.5 yards (-130)
The Vikings average 109.3 ypg on the ground and Mason has an average of 68 ypg which is right at the O/U of this prop bet. However, Cleveland is no.1 against the run as they allow just 70.3 ypg.
Considering the Vikings will be missing three offensive linemen, I just don’t this unit finding success on the ground against a ferocious Browns defense. In three of their four games, Cleveland allowed the opposing team’s top running back 43 yards or less. That list included King Henry, Chase Brown and Josh Jacobs.
Last week, Jahmyr Gibbs put up 91 rushing yards. He’s the only one to crack the Browns defense, but still failed to surpass 100 yards.
I don’t see Mason even getting 60 rushing yards this weekend. Take the Under.
Bet: Under 67.5 yards (-130)
Quinshon Judkins Rushing Yards
- Over 75.5 yards (-125)
- Under 75.5 yards (-105)
In three games, Quinshon Judkins is averaging almost 80 rushing yards per game. The last two weeks, Judkins was the primary back and tallied 88 rushing yards per game. The Vikings give up over 130 rushing yards per game and I fully expect Judkins to flirt with 100 yards this week, especially with Gabriel at QB.
Bet: Over 75.5 yards (-125)
Best Bets For The NFL International Game
Check out our best bets for this NFL International Game:
- Cleveland Browns +3.5 (-110)
- Wentz Under 199.5 passing yards (-125)
- Mason Under 67.5 rushing yards (-130)
I believe the Browns match up well against the Vikings. They have the defense to shut down an erratic, injured Minnesota offense. Additionally, Dillon Gabriel could be the difference maker that this offense needs.
The Browns have allowed one QB to throw for over 200 yards and that was Lamar Jackson. They held down Jordan Love, Jared Goff and Joe Burrow to under 200 passing yards. Wentz stands no chance against this Browns defensive line.
I also see Jordan Mason struggling to find success running the ball behind a wounded offensive line that’s going to be overmatched against the Browns defensive line. Furthermore, the Browns have only allowed one running back to go for more than 68 rushing yards. They held Chase Brown, King Henry, and Josh Jacobs to 43 yards or less.
