Hornets vs Nets Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Take the Hornets to win in Brooklyn. Our number gives Charlotte 63.4% on the road; the price gives them 55.3%.
The Charlotte Hornets are -136 and the Brooklyn Nets +115 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 55.3% for Charlotte and 44.7% for Brooklyn. Last season’s home and road records put Charlotte 8.1 points higher than the market. We bet at 5.
How 63.4% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site are in neither half. Neither team played one.
The Nets went 12-29 at Barclays Center, a 29.3% home win rate over 41 games. The Hornets went 23-18 on the road, a 43.9% road loss rate over 41. The midpoint is 36.6% for Brooklyn and 63.4% for Charlotte.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At -136 and +115 they come to 104.1%. Taken out, the Hornets are 55.3% and the Nets 44.7%.
This season is not in our number. The Nets are 1-6, 0-3 at home, and lost 103-90 at the New York Knicks on Monday 2 November. The Hornets are 3-5, 1-2 on the road, and lost 124-91 to the Detroit Pistons the same night. Rosters change over a summer, and the method does not see that. That is the main risk in this bet.
Brooklyn at home, Charlotte on the road
At home the Nets scored 108.4 points a game and allowed 115.0, a margin of -6.6. The Hornets on the road scored 117.0 and allowed 111.2, a margin of 5.8.
The halves the method leaves out point the same way. Brooklyn on the road went 8-33, scoring 103.5 and allowing 116.8. Charlotte at home went 21-20, scoring 115.0 and allowing 111.1.
Over the full 2025-26 season, the Hornets finished 44-38, ninth in the Eastern Conference, and outscored opponents by 4.8 points a game. The Nets finished 20-62, 13th in the East, and were outscored by 10.0 a game. Neither team made the playoffs.
The blowout counts are lopsided. Charlotte won by 10 or more 32 times and lost by 10 or more 19 times. Brooklyn won by 10 or more 12 times and lost by 10 or more 43 times. In games decided by 5 points or fewer, the Hornets were 5-11 and the Nets 2-12, small samples that say little either way.
The Hornets won two of the three meetings. In Brooklyn, the Nets won 116-103 on 1 December 2025 and the Hornets won 117-86 on 31 March 2026. Those games are in our number: two of the Nets’ 41 home games and two of the Hornets’ 41 road games. In Charlotte, the Hornets won 136-117 on 22 October 2025. That game is in neither half.
Pick: Hornets -136
Bet the Hornets on the moneyline at -136. The gap is 8.1 points toward Charlotte, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Hornets -136 and Nets +115 on 3 November 2026 at 06:35 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, so the market has not moved since.
What kills the bet
A shorter Charlotte price. At -140 or longer the Hornets are a bet whatever Brooklyn is priced at. With the Nets at +115, Charlotte stays a bet up to -189. Past that, pass.
For the Nets to become the bet, Brooklyn would need to be +216 or longer whatever Charlotte is priced at, or +275 or longer against the current Hornets price of -136. They are +115.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 3 November 2026 at 06:35 UTC, has Grant Williams (hamstring) and Kon Knueppel (hamstring) out for Charlotte, and Egor Demin (leg) and Tyler Bilodeau (shoulder) out for Brooklyn. The method reads last season’s records only, so the list does not change the number. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the spread
The total is 214.5, over -110 and under -110. The Nets’ home games went over 214.5 in 29 of 41, a 70.7% rate. The Hornets’ road games went over in 30 of 41, a 73.2% rate. Brooklyn’s home games averaged 223.4 points and Charlotte’s road games 228.2.
That averages to 72.0% for the over, against 50.0% priced, a gap of 22.0 points. Across all 82 games, the Nets went over this line 58 times and the Hornets 61 times. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so the over is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is Hornets -2.5 and Nets +2.5, both at -110, unchanged from the opening. Brooklyn’s home games beat +2.5 in 14 of 41, and Charlotte’s road games covered -2.5 in 21 of 41. Averaged, the Nets cover 41.5% of the time against 50.0% priced, a gap of 8.5 points toward Hornets -2.5. That is a lean on the same side. One bet on this game: the Hornets at -136.
