Bulls vs Celtics Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Bulls at +500. Our number gives Chicago in Boston 29.3%; the price gives them 16.0%.
The Chicago Bulls are +500 and the Boston Celtics -700 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 16.0% for Chicago and 84.0% for Boston. Last season’s home and road records put Chicago 13.3 points higher than that. We bet at a gap of 5.
How 29.3% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Neutral-site games sit in neither half. Neither team played one.
The Celtics went 30-11 at TD Garden, a 73.2% home win rate over 41 games. The Bulls went 13-28 on the road and lost 28 of 41, a 68.3% road loss rate. The midpoint is 70.7% for Boston and 29.3% for Chicago.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At +500 and -700 the pair comes to 104.2%. Taken out, the Bulls are 16.0% and the Celtics 84.0%.
This season is outside the method. The Celtics are 3-1, 3-0 at home, and last beat the Brooklyn Nets 125-124 in overtime on Tuesday 27 October. The Bulls are 1-4, 1-2 on the road, and lost 133-127 to the New York Knicks on Wednesday 28 October. Our number reads 2025-26 only, so none of those nine games is in it. A 1-4 start is five games. That is too few to describe a team, and it is the main risk in this bet.
Boston at home, Chicago on the road
At home the Celtics scored 114.8 points a game and allowed 107.0, a margin of 7.8. The Bulls on the road scored 117.7 and allowed 124.4, a margin of -6.7.
The halves the method leaves out: Chicago at home went 18-23, scoring 114.9 and allowing 118.6. Boston on the road went 26-15, scoring 114.9 and allowing 107.3. The Celtics’ road record was 63.4%, below their 73.2% at home. That gap is why the home half carries the weight here.
The season around it
Over the full 2025-26 season the Celtics finished 56-26, the 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. They scored 114.9 a game, allowed 107.2, and outscored opponents by 7.7 a game. They won 38 games by 10 or more and lost 10 that way. In the playoffs they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 4-3.
The Bulls finished 31-51, 12th in the East, and missed the playoffs. They scored 116.3 a game and allowed 121.5, a difference of -5.2. They lost 33 games by 10 or more and won 13 that way.
Close games, decided by 5 points or fewer, split the other way. Chicago went 13-9 in them with two overtime games. Boston went 10-10 with one. Twenty-two games proves nothing about closing ability, and the method does not use it.
The Celtics won two of the three meetings. In Boston they won 115-101 on Monday 5 January 2026 and 124-105 on Wednesday 11 February. Those two games are in our number: two of the Celtics’ 41 home games and two of the Bulls’ 41 road games. In Chicago the Bulls won 114-111 on Saturday 24 January. That game is in neither half.
Pick: Bulls +500
Bet the Bulls on the moneyline at +500. The gap is 13.3 points toward Chicago, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Bulls +500 and Celtics -700 on 29 October 2026 at 19:02 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Bulls +425 and Celtics -575. Since opening the market has moved toward Boston: it gave the Celtics 81.7% at the open and gives them 84.0% now.
What kills the bet
A shorter Chicago price. At +311 or longer the Bulls are a bet whatever Boston is priced at. With the Celtics at -700, they stay a bet down to +256.
For the Celtics to become the bet, Boston would have to be priced at -191 or longer whatever Chicago’s price, or at +213 or longer with the Bulls at +500. They are -700.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 29 October 2026 at 19:02 UTC, has Patrick Williams (groin) and Nic Claxton (hamstring) out for Chicago, with Jalen Smith (finger) and Tobe Awaka (ankle) day-to-day. Boston lists Devin Carter (illness) out. Our method reads team records, so the list does not change the number. Check the lineups before you bet.
Our number still gives Chicago a 70.7% chance of losing. The case is that +500 pays more than that risk is worth, on last season’s evidence.
The total and the spread
The total is 230.5, over -110 and under -110. The Celtics’ home games went over 230.5 in 12 of 41 and averaged 221.8 points. The Bulls’ road games went over in 28 of 41 and averaged 242.1. Across all 82 games, Boston went over in 28 and Chicago in 49.
That is 29.3% and 68.3%, an average of 48.8% for the over. The market prices the over at 50.0%, so our count leans to the under by 1.2 points. That is below the threshold of 5. Pass on the total.
The spread is Celtics -15.5 at -110 and Bulls +15.5 at -110. It opened Celtics -11.5. Boston covered 15.5 in 12 of 41 home games, and Chicago stayed inside it in 31 of 41 road games. Averaged, Celtics -15.5 lands 26.8% of the time against 50.0% priced, a gap of 23.2 points toward Bulls +15.5. Our method stakes the moneyline, so this is a lean on the same side, not a second bet. One bet on this game: the Bulls at +500.
