Nuggets vs Suns Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Suns at +142. Our number gives Phoenix at home 48.8%; the price gives them 39.6%.
The Phoenix Suns are +142 and the Denver Nuggets -170 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 39.6% for Phoenix and 60.4% for Denver. Last season’s home and road records put Phoenix 9.2 points higher than that. We bet at 5.
How 48.8% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site are in neither half, and neither team played one.
The Suns went 25-16 at home, a 61.0% home win rate over 41 games. The Nuggets went 26-15 on the road and lost 15 of 41, a 36.6% road loss rate. The midpoint is 48.8% for Phoenix and 51.2% for Denver.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +142 and -170 they come to 104.3%. Taken out, the Suns are 39.6% and the Nuggets 60.4%.
This season has started, and none of it is in our number. Phoenix is 1-2, 1-0 at home, and lost its last game 125-114 at the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday 26 October. Denver is 2-2, 1-1 on the road, and won 104-91 at the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday 28 October. Our number reads 2025-26 only, so it does not see summer roster changes either. That is the main risk in this bet.
Phoenix at home, Denver on the road
At home the Suns scored 112.0 points a game and allowed 108.4, a surplus of 3.6. The Nuggets on the road scored 123.3 and allowed 118.6, a surplus of 4.7.
The halves the method leaves out: Denver at home went 28-13, scoring 120.8 and allowing 115.2. Phoenix on the road went 20-21, scoring 113.2 and allowing 113.8.
The season around it
Over the full season the Nuggets finished 54-28, third in the West, scoring 122.1 a game and allowing 116.9, a difference of 5.2. The Suns finished 45-37, eighth, scoring 112.6 and allowing 111.1, a difference of 1.5. In the playoffs Phoenix lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 4-0. Denver lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-2.
In games decided by 5 points or fewer, Denver went 15-13 and Phoenix 12-14. The Nuggets played 9 overtime games, the Suns 2. Denver won 28 games by 10 or more and lost 9 that way; Phoenix won 25 and lost 17.
The Nuggets won all three meetings. In Phoenix, Denver won 130-112 on 29 November 2025 and 125-123 on 24 March 2026; those games are in our number: two of the Suns’ 41 home games and two of the Nuggets’ 41 road games. In Denver, the Nuggets won 133-111 on 25 October 2025; that game is in neither half.
Pick: Suns +142
Bet the Suns on the moneyline at +142. The gap is 9.2 points toward Phoenix, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Suns +142 and Nuggets -170 on 29 October 2026 at 19:02 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Suns +114 and Nuggets -135, when the market gave Phoenix 44.9% and Denver 55.1%. Since opening, the market gives Denver 5.2 points more.
What kills the bet
A shorter Phoenix price. At +129 or longer the Suns are a bet whatever Denver is priced at; with the Nuggets at -170, they stay a bet down to +104.
For the Nuggets to become the bet, they would have to drift to +117 or longer whatever the Phoenix price, or to +182 or longer against the Suns at +142. They are -170.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 29 October 2026 at 19:02 UTC, has Mark Williams (shoulder) out and Oso Ighodaro (oblique) day-to-day for Phoenix. For Denver it has Cameron Johnson (ankle), Spencer Jones (hamstring), Alpha Diallo (personal) and Julian Strawther (knee) out. The NBA has no key-player rule in our method, so the list does not change the number. Check the lineups before you bet.
Our number still gives Phoenix a 51.2% chance of losing. The case is that +142 pays more than that risk warrants, on last season’s evidence.
The total and the spread
The total is 228.5, over -110 and under -110. The Suns’ home games went over 228.5 in 14 of 41, the Nuggets’ road games in 32 of 41. Phoenix’s home games averaged 220.4 points, Denver’s road games 241.9. Across all 82 games, the Suns went over this line 35 times and the Nuggets 59.
That is 34.1% and 78.0%, an average of 56.1% for the over. The market prices the over at 50.0%, so our count leans to the over by 6.1 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is Nuggets -4.5 at -110 and Suns +4.5 at -110; it opened Nuggets -2.5. Phoenix at home won, or lost by 4 or fewer, in 32 of 41. Denver on the road won by 5 or more in 18 of 41. Averaged, Suns +4.5 lands 67.1% of the time against 50.0% priced, a gap of 17.1 points. That is a lean on the same side. One bet on this game: the Suns at +142.
