Pacers vs Heat Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Heat on the moneyline. Our number gives Miami at home 72.0%; the price gives them 62.2%.
The Indiana Pacers are +154 and the Miami Heat -185 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 37.8% for Indiana and 62.2% for Miami. Last season’s home and road records put Miami 9.8 points higher than that. We bet at 5.
How 72.0% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site sit in neither half, and neither team played one.
The Heat went 26-15 at Kaseya Center, a 63.4% home win rate over 41 games. The Pacers went 8-33 on the road, an 80.5% road loss rate over 41 games. The midpoint is 72.0% for Miami and 28.0% for Indiana.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At -185 and +154 they add to 104.3%. Taken out, the Heat are 62.2% and the Pacers 37.8%.
This season so far
Miami is 1-4 in 2026-27 and 0-3 at home. Its last game was a 129-117 win at the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday 28 October. Indiana is 2-3, with a 2-1 road record, and lost 114-109 to the Philadelphia 76ers the same night.
None of that is in our number, which reads 2025-26 only. Five games is too few to describe either team, and an 0-3 home start says little against a 41-game home sample. It is still the plainest risk in this bet: rosters change over a summer, and the number does not see it.
Miami at home, Indiana on the road
At home the Heat scored 123.5 points a game and allowed 118.3, a surplus of 5.2. The Pacers on the road scored 111.0 and allowed 121.6, a deficit of 10.6. These are the two halves our number is built on.
The halves the method leaves out: Indiana at home went 11-30, scoring 113.8 and allowing 119.2. Miami on the road went 17-24, scoring 118.3 and allowing 118.8.
The season around it
The Heat finished 43-39, 10th in the Eastern Conference, and missed the playoffs. They scored 120.9 a game and allowed 118.5, a difference of 2.4. They won 29 games by 10 or more and lost 23 that way.
The Pacers finished 19-63, 14th in the East, and also missed the playoffs. They scored 112.4 and allowed 120.4, a difference of -8.0 a game. Indiana won 7 games by 10 or more and lost 38.
In games decided by 5 points or fewer, Miami went 8-8 and Indiana 10-12. Those are small samples, and neither says much about this game. Miami played 1 overtime game, Indiana 2.
The teams played three times. In Miami the Heat won 142-116 on Saturday 27 December 2025; that game is in our number, one of the Heat’s 41 home games and one of the Pacers’ 41 road games. In Indiana’s arena the Pacers won 123-99 on Saturday 10 January 2026 and 135-118 on Sunday 29 March 2026; those are in neither half. Three games prove nothing about the matchup.
Pick: Heat -185
Bet the Heat on the moneyline at -185. The gap is 9.8 points toward Miami, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Heat -185 and Pacers +154 on 29 October 2026 at 19:02 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Heat -155 and Pacers +130. At the open the market gave Miami 58.3%; it now gives 62.2%, so the price has moved 3.9 points toward the Heat since.
What kills the bet
A shorter Miami price. At -203 or longer the Heat are a bet whatever Indiana is priced at. With the Pacers at +154, Miami stays a bet up to -402.
For the Pacers to become the bet, their price would have to reach +334 or longer whatever Miami is priced at, or +415 or longer with the Heat at -185. They are +154.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 29 October 2026 at 19:02 UTC, has Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring), T.J. McConnell (hamstring), Ben Sheppard (knee) and Johnny Furphy (knee) out for Indiana, and Ivica Zubac (ankle) day-to-day. Miami lists Simone Fontecchio (illness) as day-to-day. Our method has no key-player rule for the NBA, so the list does not change the number. Check the lineups before you bet.
Our number still gives Indiana a 28.0% chance of winning. The case is that -185 charges for a 62.2% favourite, and last season’s evidence makes Miami a 72.0% one.
The total and the spread
The total is 239.5, over -110 and under -110. The Heat’s home games went over 239.5 in 21 of 41, a 51.2% rate. The Pacers’ road games went over in 14 of 41, a 34.1% rate. Miami’s home games averaged 241.8 points, Indiana’s road games 232.6.
The average of those two rates is 42.7% for the over, against 50.0% priced, so our count leans to the under by 7.3 points. Across all 82 games, the Heat went over this line 41 times and the Pacers 30. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is Heat -4.5 at -105 and Pacers +4.5 at -115. Miami beat this line in 21 of 41 home games; Indiana beat it in 11 of 41 road games. Averaged, Heat -4.5 lands 62.2% of the time against 48.9% priced, a gap of 13.3 points toward Miami. That is a lean on the same side. One bet on this game: the Heat at -185.
