Raptors vs Wizards Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
No bet. The Wizards at +170 sit 1.1 points from our number, and we bet only at a gap of 5.
The Toronto Raptors are -205 and the Washington Wizards +170 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 64.5% for Toronto and 35.5% for Washington. Last season’s home and road records give the Wizards 36.6%. The gap is 1.1 points, and the price is close to right.
How 36.6% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Neither team played a neutral-site game, so no game was left out of either half.
The Wizards went 11-30 at Capital One Arena, a 26.8% home win rate over 41 games. The Raptors went 22-19 on the road. They lost 19 of 41, a 46.3% road loss rate. The midpoint is 36.6% for Washington and 63.4% for Toronto.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +170 and -205 the pair comes to 104.3%. Taken out, the Wizards are 35.5% and the Raptors 64.5%. Ours and the market’s differ by 1.1 points toward Washington. Our threshold is 5.
This season so far
Both teams are 1-0 in 2026-27. Washington beat the Milwaukee Bucks 128-116 at home on Wednesday 21 October. Toronto beat the Chicago Bulls 135-92 the same night and has not played a road game yet.
Those two results are outside our number, which reads 2025-26 only. Rosters change over a summer, and the method does not see that either. One game each is no sample. It changes nothing here.
Washington at home, Toronto on the road
At home the Wizards scored 113.7 points a game and allowed 124.5, a deficit of 10.8. The Raptors on the road scored 114.0 and allowed 112.8, a surplus of 1.2.
Here are the halves the method leaves out. Washington on the road went 6-35, scoring 112.1 and allowing 125.2, a deficit of 13.1. Toronto at home went 24-17, scoring 115.3 and allowing 110.8, a surplus of 4.5.
The season around it
The Wizards finished 17-65, 15th in the East, and were outscored by 12.0 points a game. They won 8 games by 10 or more and lost 51 by 10 or more. In close games, decided by 5 points or fewer, they went 5-9. They played 3 overtime games and missed the playoffs.
The Raptors finished 46-36, fifth in the East, and outscored opponents by 2.8 a game. They won 33 games by 10 or more and lost 23 by that much. They went 7-5 in close games and played 4 overtime games. In the playoffs they lost a seven-game series to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 4-3.
Toronto won two of the three games between the teams. In Washington, the Wizards won 138-117 on 26 December 2025 and the Raptors won 134-125 on 28 February 2026. Both are in our number: two of the Wizards’ 41 home games and two of the Raptors’ 41 road games. In Toronto, the Raptors won 140-110 on 21 November 2025, and that game is in neither half.
Pick: No bet
No bet on either side of the moneyline. The gap is 1.1 points toward Washington, against a threshold of 5. A 1.1-point gap is inside the noise of a 41-game rate.
The line read Raptors -205 and Wizards +170 on 22 October 2026 at 20:59 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Raptors -185 and Wizards +154. Since the open the market gives Toronto 2.2 points more: 62.2% at the open against 64.5% now. That move took the price toward our number. It did not move far enough away from it to make a bet.
What kills the bet
This page has no bet to kill, so the useful question is which prices would make one. The Wizards become a bet at +216 or longer whatever Toronto is priced at. Against the current Raptors price of -205, they become a bet at +222 or longer. Both are well past +170.
The Raptors become a bet at -140 or longer whatever Washington is priced at. Against the current Wizards price of +170, Toronto becomes a bet at -108 or longer. Either would need the market to move a long way toward Washington.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 22 October 2026 at 20:59 UTC, has three Washington players out: AJ Dybantsa (ankle), Tristan Vukcevic (hip) and Jamir Watkins (knee). Felix Okpara (illness) is day-to-day. For Toronto, Nate Bittle (foot) is out. The list is not in our number and does not change the call. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the spread
The total is 236.5, over -108 and under -112. The Wizards’ home games went over 236.5 in 21 of 41 and averaged 238.2 points. The Raptors’ road games went over in 13 of 41 and averaged 226.8. Across all 82 games, Washington went over this line 41 times and Toronto 26 times.
That is 51.2% and 31.7%, an average of 41.5% for the over. With the margin removed, the over is priced at 49.6% and the under at 50.4%. Our count leans to the under by 8.1 points. The method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean and not a bet.
The spread is Raptors -5.5 at -105 and Wizards +5.5 at -115; it opened at 4.5. Washington’s home games beat this line 15 times in 41, and Toronto’s road games beat it 20 times in 41. Averaged, the Wizards cover 43.9% of the time against 51.1% priced, a gap of 7.2 points toward Raptors -5.5. That is a count of one season, so it is a lean too. On this game the method gives no bet.
