Favored nearly every week

Boise State went 9-4 and 9-4 against the spread over 13 games, the Mountain West Championship included. Twelve FBS teams covered more often and one at the same rate. As a favorite the Broncos were 9-2 and covered eight. Some of the prices were steep: -1800 at Nevada, -1200 against Colorado State. The two losses as favorites were 34-7 at South Florida in the opener at -5.5, and 30-7 at home to Fresno State at -17.5 and -1600.

Seven home games, six wins, six covers; a home cover rate topped by four FBS programmes and equalled by five. The Fresno State game was the exception both ways. The last home cover was the conference title game, 38-21 over UNLV laying 6. On the road the Broncos covered three of six.

Seven straight, then one in four

After the opening miss Boise State covered seven in a row through September and October, including a 28-7 loss at Notre Dame at +21.5. November went 1-3 against the spread: Fresno State, a 17-7 loss at San Diego State at +2.5, and a 25-24 win at Utah State laying 1.5 all missed.
