Flames vs Kraken Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

No bet on either side. The price makes Seattle a 60.0% winner at home, our number makes them 59.8%, and a gap of 0.2 points is no reason to bet.

The Calgary Flames are +140 and the Seattle Kraken -166 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 40.0% for Calgary and 60.0% for Seattle. Our number has the Flames at 40.2% and the Kraken at 59.8%. The gap is 0.2 points toward Calgary, against a threshold of 5. The market and the method agree almost exactly.

How 59.8% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out.

The Kraken went 19-17-5 at Climate Pledge Arena, a 46.3% home win rate. The Flames went 11-26-4 on the road, a 73.2% road loss rate. Averaged, Seattle is 59.8% and Calgary 40.2%. A side is a bet when our number and the market’s differ by at least 5 points. Here they differ by 0.2.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At +140 and -166 they add to 104.1%. Taken out, the Flames are 40.0% and the Kraken 60.0%.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. The Kraken are 8-5-1, 4-2-0 at home, but lost 6-2 in Calgary on Friday 30 October. Philipp Grubauer has played nine of their games and Joey Daccord seven. The Flames are 7-8-0, 2-5-0 on the road, and won 2-1 in San Jose on Monday 2 November. Dustin Wolf has played eight of their games, Devin Cooley seven and Arsenii Sergeev one. Cooley is on injured reserve with a lower-body injury (ESPN game page, read 3 November 2026, 16:33 UTC). Our method is not re-run for him, and his absence does not change the call.

Seattle at home, Calgary on the road

The Kraken at home scored 2.95 a game and allowed 3.05, a deficit of 0.10. The Flames on the road scored 2.24 and allowed 3.71, a deficit of 1.47. Calgary away from home was the weakest half on either side of this game, and that is why the price makes the Kraken a 60.0% favourite.

The halves the method leaves out: Calgary at home went 23-13-5, a 56.1% win rate, scoring 2.93 and allowing 2.61. Seattle on the road went 15-20-6, a 36.6% win rate, scoring 2.56 and allowing 3.37. The Flames were a winning team in their own arena and a poor one everywhere else. Only the second half is in our number.

The season around it

Both teams missed the playoffs in the Western Conference. Seattle went 34-37-11 with 79 points and was outscored by 37. Calgary went 34-39-9 with 77 points and was outscored by 47. Over 82 games the two were close to level, and the gap between them on this game comes from where it is played.

Neither team was strong in close games. The Kraken went 13-5-11 in one-goal games and won 8 of the 19 that went past regulation. The Flames went 14-6-9 in one-goal games and won 7 of 16 past 60 minutes. Seattle lost by two goals or more in 32 of 82 games; Calgary in 33 of 82.

Seattle won two of the three meetings in 2025-26. The Flames won 4-2 in Calgary on 18 December 2025, and the Kraken won 5-1 there on 5 January 2026. Those two are in neither half of our number. The one game in Seattle, a 4-1 Kraken win on 11 April 2026, is in both halves.

Pick: No bet

Pass on the moneyline. The gap is 0.2 points toward the Flames, against a threshold of 5. On these prices the market has priced the game where our method puts it.

The line read Flames +140 and Kraken -166 on 3 November 2026 at 16:33 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, +140 and -166, so the market’s chances have not moved since opening.

What kills the bet

There is no bet to kill. For the Kraken to become a bet, they would need to be -121 or longer whatever Calgary is priced at, or -102 or longer against the Flames at +140. They are -166.

For the Flames to become a bet, they would need to be +184 or longer whatever Seattle is priced at, or +195 or longer against the Kraken at -166. They are +140. Besides Cooley, ESPN’s list has Brennan Othmann out with an upper-body injury and Connor Zary out with a knee injury, with Jonathan Huberdeau and Samuel Honzek on injured reserve for Calgary. Seattle lists Jared McCann, Jacob Melanson, Ryan Lindgren and Jake O’Brien on injured reserve. Check the lineups before you bet.

The total and the puck line

The total is 6.5, over +105 and under -125. Both teams’ games went over 6.5 in 29 of 82, a 35.4% rate. Seattle’s home games averaged 6.0 goals and Calgary’s road games 5.95.

That makes our number 35.4% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 46.8% and the under at 53.2%. Our number leans to the under by 11.4 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, not a bet.

On the puck line, Seattle is -1.5 at +150 and Calgary +1.5 at -180, which is 38.4% and 61.6% without the margin. The Kraken won by two goals or more in 21 of 82 games, and the Flames lost by two or more in 33 of 82. Averaged, Kraken -1.5 lands 32.9% of the time against 38.4% priced, a gap of 5.4 points toward Flames +1.5. That is a lean on the same side as the 0.2-point moneyline gap, and still not a bet. No bet on this game.
