Hurricanes vs Predators Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Take the Predators on the moneyline at home. Our number has Nashville winning 45.7% of the time, and the price has them at 37.8%.
The Nashville Predators are +154 and the Carolina Hurricanes -185 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 37.8% for Nashville and 62.2% for Carolina. The price makes the visitors a clear favourite. Our number still has Carolina ahead, by less.
How 45.7% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out of both.
The Predators went 20-17-3 at Bridgestone Arena, a 50.0% home win rate. The Hurricanes went 24-12-5 on the road, a 41.5% road loss rate. Average the two and Nashville is 45.7%, Carolina 54.3%. That is 7.9 points better for the Predators than the price.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +154 and -185 the two come to 104.3%. With that taken out, the Predators are 37.8% and the Hurricanes 62.2%.
Every input is from 2025-26. This season sits outside the method, and it has gone well for Carolina. The Hurricanes are 12-2-2, 7-1-1 on the road, and beat Winnipeg 7-0 on Sunday. Pyotr Kochetkov has played 10 of their games and Brandon Bussi 6. The Predators are 5-4-5, 4-3-2 at home, and beat Tampa Bay 5-4 in a shootout on Saturday 31 October. Juuse Saros has played 10 of their games and Justus Annunen 3.
Nashville at home, Carolina on the road
At home last season the Predators scored 3.12 a game and allowed 3.27, a deficit of 0.15. The Hurricanes on the road scored 3.29 and allowed 2.78, a surplus of 0.51. Those are the two halves in our number.
The halves the method leaves out favour Carolina more. The Hurricanes at home went 29-10-2, a 70.7% win rate, scoring 3.93 and allowing 3.07. The Predators on the road went 17-16-7, 42.5%, scoring 3.0 and allowing 3.33. Neither of those halves is in our number.
The season around it
Carolina went 53-22-7 with 113 points and a goal difference of +56. Its playoff series read 4-0 against Ottawa, 4-0 against Philadelphia, 4-1 against Montreal and 4-2 against Vegas. Nashville went 38-34-10 with 86 points, a goal difference of -22, and missed the playoffs.
In close games the Hurricanes went 24-4-7 in one-goal games and won 14 of the 21 that went past regulation. Nashville went 20-8-10 in one-goal games and won 10 of 20 past 60 minutes. The Predators lost by two goals or more in 26 of 82 games; Carolina won by two or more in 29 of 82.
Carolina won both meetings in 2025-26. The 6-3 win on Saturday 6 December was in Carolina’s arena, so it sits in neither half of our number. The 4-1 win in Nashville on Wednesday 17 December is in both halves: a home loss for the Predators and a road win for the Hurricanes.
Pick: Predators +154
Bet the Predators on the moneyline at +154. The gap is 7.9 points toward Nashville, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Predators +154 and Hurricanes -185 on 2 November 2026 at 19:34 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at +150 and -180. Since the open the market has moved toward Carolina by 0.6 points: it gave Nashville 38.4% then and 37.8% now.
What kills the bet
A shorter Nashville price. At +146 or longer the Predators are a bet whatever Carolina is priced at. Against Carolina at -185, they stay a bet down to +124.
For the Hurricanes to become the bet, they would have to be +103 or longer, or +161 or longer against Nashville’s current price. They are -185.
ESPN’s injury list on the game page, read 2 November 2026, has Jordan Staal on injured reserve with a calf injury, Taylor Hall day-to-day with an upper-body injury and Alexander Nikishin out for a reason not related to injury, all for Carolina. It lists no one for Nashville. None of this changes our number. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 6.5, over +110 and under -130. The Predators’ games went over 6.5 in 35 of 82, the Hurricanes’ in 44 of 82. Nashville’s home games averaged 6.39 goals and Carolina’s road games 6.07.
That is 42.7% and 53.7%, an average of 48.2% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 45.7% and the under at 54.3%. Our number leans over by 2.4 points, under the threshold of 5. Pass on the total.
On the puck line, Carolina is -1.5 at +124 and Nashville +1.5 at -148, which is 42.8% and 57.2% without the margin. The Hurricanes won by two goals or more in 29 of 82 games, and the Predators lost by two or more in 26 of 82. Averaged, Hurricanes -1.5 lands 33.5% of the time against 42.8% priced, a gap of 9.3 points toward Predators +1.5. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean on the same side. One bet on this game: the Predators at +154.
