Wild vs Flyers Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Flyers on the moneyline. With Filip Gustavsson out, our number makes Philadelphia a 47.9% winner at home, and the price says 39.6%.
The Philadelphia Flyers are +142 and the Minnesota Wild -170 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 39.6% for Philadelphia and 60.4% for Minnesota. Our number has the Wild ahead at 52.1%, but the game is much closer than the price says. The 8.3-point gap toward the Flyers is the whole argument.
How 47.9% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out. A side is a bet when our number and the market’s differ by at least 5 points.
Gustavsson is on injured reserve with a hip injury. The ESPN injury list, read 2 November 2026 at 17:45 UTC, dates the entry 18 October and gives 19 November as his return. When a team’s starting goalie is out, our method is run again on the games without him. Gustavsson appeared in 50 of Minnesota’s 82 games last season, more than Jesper Wallstedt’s 35, and in 24 of the 41 road games the method reads. In the 17 road games without him, the Wild went 9-4-4, a 47.06% road loss rate. Our floor for a re-run is 10 games, and 17 clears it.
The Flyers went 20-13-8 at Xfinity Mobile Arena, a 48.8% home win rate. Average 48.8% with 47.06% and the Flyers are 47.9%, the Wild 52.1%. That is 8.3 points better for Philadelphia than the price.
The full road season gives the same side. Minnesota went 23-14-4 away from home, a 43.9% road loss rate. On that number Philadelphia is 46.3% and the gap is 6.7 points, still over the threshold. Without Gustavsson the Wild lose more often on the road, and the gap widens.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +142 and -170 they come to 104.3%. Taken out, the Flyers are 39.6% and the Wild 60.4%.
Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures, and it has gone badly for Philadelphia. The Flyers are 4-8-4, 3-3-3 at home, though they beat the Utah Mammoth 6-3 on Sunday 1 November. Dan Vladar and Joseph Woll have played eight games each. The Wild are 10-3-3, 6-3-2 on the road, and won 5-1 in Washington the same day. Wallstedt has played 14 of their games and Calvin Pickard two.
Philadelphia at home, Minnesota on the road
The Flyers at home scored 2.71 a game and allowed 2.76, a deficit of 0.05. The Wild on the road scored 3.46 and allowed 3.05, a surplus of 0.41. Those are the two halves in the full-season version of our number.
The halves the method leaves out cut the other way for Philadelphia. The Flyers on the road went 23-14-4, a 56.1% win rate, scoring 3.39 and allowing 3.17. Minnesota at home went 23-10-8, also 56.1%, scoring 3.17 and allowing 2.80. Philadelphia was the better team away from its own arena, and that half is not in our number.
The season around it
Minnesota went 46-24-12 with 104 points and a goal difference of +32, then beat Dallas 4-2 in the playoffs before losing 4-1 to Colorado. Philadelphia went 43-27-12 with 98 points and a goal difference of +7. The Flyers beat Pittsburgh 4-2 in the first round and were swept 4-0 by Carolina.
Both teams lived in close games. The Wild went 20-5-12 in one-goal games and won 15 of the 27 that went past regulation. The Flyers went 17-5-12 in one-goal games and won 16 of their 28 past 60 minutes. Philadelphia won by two goals or more 26 times and lost by two or more 22 times; Minnesota’s figures were 26 and 19.
The Flyers won both meetings in 2025-26, and both went past regulation. The first was 2-1 in overtime in Philadelphia on 18 October 2025. That game is in the Flyers’ home rate and the Wild’s full-season road rate. The second was a 3-2 shootout win in Minnesota on 12 March 2026, which sits in neither half of our number.
Pick: Flyers +142
Bet the Flyers on the moneyline at +142. The gap is 8.3 points toward Philadelphia on Minnesota’s road games without Gustavsson, against a threshold of 5. On the full road season it is 6.7.
The line read Flyers +142 and Wild -170 on 2 November 2026 at 17:46 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, so the market has not moved.
What kills the bet
A shorter Philadelphia price. At +133 or longer the Flyers are a bet whatever Minnesota is priced at. Against the Wild at -170, they stay a bet down to +111.
For the Wild to become the bet against Flyers +142, they would have to be +172 or longer. At +113 or longer they are a bet whatever the Flyers’ price. They are -170.
The rest is on the ice. Philadelphia’s 4-8-4 start is not in our number. Besides Gustavsson, ESPN’s injury list has Jared Spurgeon, Brock Faber, Marcus Foligno and Nick Foligno on injured reserve for Minnesota. Philadelphia lists Rasmus Ristolainen and Nikita Grebenkin on injured reserve. No other goalie is on either list. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 5.5, over -125 and under +105. The Flyers’ games went over 5.5 in 44 of 82, the Wild’s in 50 of 82. Philadelphia’s home games averaged 5.47 goals, Minnesota’s road games 6.51.
That is 53.7% and 61.0%, which gives 57.3% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 53.2% and the under at 46.8%. Our number leans to the over by 4.1 points, short of 5. Pass on the total.
On the puck line, Philadelphia is +1.5 at -166 and Minnesota -1.5 at +140, which is 60.0% and 40.0% without the margin. The Wild won by two goals or more in 26 of 82 games, and the Flyers lost by two or more in 22 of 82. On those rates Wild -1.5 lands 29.3% of the time against 40.0% priced, a gap of 10.8 points toward Flyers +1.5. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean on the same side. One bet on this game: the Flyers at +142.
