The Ducks won 24 of 41 at home last season and are the underdog. Take them at +105.
The Florida Panthers are -125 and the Anaheim Ducks +105 at DraftKings. With the margin taken out, that prices the Ducks to win 46.8% of the time. Our number is 58.5%. The gap is 11.7 points, and a side is a bet here when the gap is 5 points or more.
How the number is built
The method is one clause: our home win chance is the average of the home team’s 2025-26 home win rate and the visitor’s 2025-26 road loss rate, with a win in overtime or a shootout counted as a win.
The Ducks went 24-13-4 at home, which is 24 wins, 13 regulation losses and 4 losses after regulation. That is a 58.5% home win rate over 41 games. The Panthers went 17-23-1 on the road, so they lost 24 of their 41 road games, also 58.5%. Two equal halves average to the same 58.5%.
The market’s figure is the moneyline with the margin removed. The margin is the few points a book builds into both prices so that they add up to more than 100%. Out of -125 and +105, it leaves the Panthers at 53.2% and the Ducks at 46.8%.
This is the first week of a new season. Rosters change over a summer, and nothing on this page measures what changed. Last season’s 82 games are the only evidence in hand, and the method uses 41 of them for each team. The Panthers play at Carolina on 29 September and at San Jose on 1 October, and the Ducks at Vegas on 2 October. None of those games is in these figures.
The Ducks at home, the Panthers on the road
At home, the Ducks scored 3.54 goals a game and allowed 3.49. The Panthers on the road scored 2.88 and allowed 3.73. That is 0.66 goals a game more scored by the home side and 0.24 fewer allowed.
Across the full season the Ducks finished 43-33-6 with 92 points and were outscored by 0.18 goals a game. They beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 in the playoffs, then lost 4-2 to the Vegas Golden Knights. The Panthers finished 40-38-4 with 84 points, outscored by 0.31 a game, and did not reach the playoffs. The method leaves the playoffs out.
The Ducks won 24 of their 36 one-goal games, a record of 24-6-6. The Panthers’ road record, 17-23-1, carries one loss after regulation, so 23 of their 24 road losses came in regulation.
The teams met twice in 2025-26, and the Ducks won both: 3-2 in a shootout at Florida on 28 October and 7-3 at home on 5 November. Two games prove nothing about a third.
The price
The Panthers opened at -130 and the Ducks at +110. Read on 24 September 2026 at 04:32 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN, they were -125 and +105. At the opening prices the gap was 12.8 points. The move toward the Ducks has cut it to 11.7.
Both halves of our number sit above the market’s 46.8%: the Ducks’ 58.5% home win rate and the Panthers’ 58.5% road loss rate. Each clears it by 11.7 points on its own.
Pick: Ducks moneyline
Anaheim Ducks +105. Our number is 58.5%, the market’s is 46.8%, and the 11.7-point gap clears the 5-point threshold.
It rests on 82 games, 41 at home for the Ducks and 41 on the road for the Panthers, all from last season.
What changes it
The price, and there is room in it. With the book’s margin at today’s size, the Ducks could become favourites at -126 and still leave a gap of 5.1 points. At -127 the gap is 4.9, and the call becomes a pass.
The summer is the other thing. A season of home and road results says how these two teams played in 2025-26, and nothing on this page says who is in either lineup on 4 October. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 6.5, with the over at -130 and the under at +110. The Ducks’ games went over 6.5 in 49 of 82, and the Panthers’ in 42 of 82. The Ducks’ home games averaged 7.03 goals, the Panthers’ road games 6.61.
Average the two over rates, 59.8% and 51.2%, to get 55.5%, and set that against the over’s 54.3% with the margin removed. That is 1.2 points. Pass on the total.
The puck line has the Panthers -1.5 at +190 and the Ducks +1.5 at -230. The Panthers won by two goals or more in 19 of their 82 games, and the Ducks lost by two or more in 27 of 82. Averaged, that is 28.0% against 33.1% priced for Panthers -1.5, a 5.1-point gap toward the Ducks. Lean Ducks +1.5 at -230, and only a lean: the moneyline is the one call this page bets.
