Rangers vs Kraken Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Bet the Kraken at home. With Igor Shesterkin out, our prediction makes Seattle a 57.5% winner against the price’s 47.4%.

The Seattle Kraken are +102 and the New York Rangers -122 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 47.4% for Seattle and 52.6% for New York. The price has the visitors as a slight favourite. Our number has Seattle clearly ahead, and the gap is 10.1 points.

How 57.5% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out, so the Rangers’ road half is 40 games.

Shesterkin is on injured reserve with a knee injury (ESPN injury list, read 6 November 2026, 20:33 UTC; entry dated 11 October, 15 September 2027 given as his return date). When a team’s starting goalie is out, our method is run again on the games without him. Shesterkin appeared in 51 of New York’s 82 games last season, ahead of Jonathan Quick’s 25, Spencer Martin’s 6 and Dylan Garand’s 3. He played 24 of the 40 road games. In the 16 he did not play, the Rangers went 5-11-0, 11 losses in 16, a 68.75% road loss rate. Our minimum is 10 games, and 16 clears it.

The Kraken went 19-17-5 at Climate Pledge Arena, a 46.3% home win rate. Average 46.3% with 68.75% and Seattle is 57.5%, New York 42.5%. That is 10.1 points better for the Kraken than the price.

The full road season gives a different answer. The Rangers went 19-19-2 away from home, a 52.5% road loss rate; on that number Seattle is 49.4% and the gap is 2.0 points, under our threshold. Without Shesterkin the bet is there. With him it is not.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +102 and -122 they come to 104.5%. Taken out, the Kraken are 47.4% and the Rangers 52.6%.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. The Kraken are 9-5-1, 5-2-0 at home, and beat Calgary 2-1 in overtime on Wednesday 4 November. Philipp Grubauer has played nine of their games and Joey Daccord eight. The Rangers are 9-7-1 but 1-5-1 on the road, and beat Philadelphia 3-2 on Thursday 5 November. Garand has played 13 of their games and Shesterkin five.

Seattle at home, New York on the road

Over the full season the Kraken at home scored 2.95 a game and allowed 3.05, a deficit of 0.1. The Rangers on the road scored 3.17 and allowed 3.12, a surplus of 0.05. On goals alone those two halves are close. The difference is the goalie: the road record falls to 5-11-0 in the games Shesterkin missed.

The halves the method leaves out: Seattle on the road went 15-20-6, a 36.6% win rate, scoring 2.56 and allowing 3.37. New York at home went 14-20-7, a 34.1% win rate, scoring 2.59 and allowing 3.02. The Rangers were the better team away from their own arena, and that half is the one in our number.

Both teams missed the playoffs. Seattle went 34-37-11 with 79 points and was outscored by 37 in the Western Conference. New York went 34-39-9 with 77 points and was outscored by 12 in the Eastern Conference.

The Kraken went 13-5-11 in one-goal games and won 8 of the 19 that went past regulation. The Rangers went 11-12-9 in one-goal games and won 9 of their 18 past 60 minutes. Seattle lost by two goals or more in 32 of 82 games, New York in 27.

The two teams split their two games in 2025-26. The Rangers won 3-2 in overtime in Seattle on 1 November 2025; that game is inside Seattle’s home rate and New York’s full-season road half. The Kraken won 4-2 in New York on 12 January 2026, a game in neither half of our number.

Pick: Kraken +102

Bet the Kraken on the moneyline at +102. The gap is 10.1 points toward Seattle on New York’s road games without Shesterkin, against a threshold of 5.

The line read Kraken +102 and Rangers -122 on 6 November 2026 at 20:33 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Kraken -102 and Rangers -118. Since the open the market gives the Rangers 0.9 points more, 52.6% against 51.7%.

What kills the bet

A shorter Seattle price. At -110 or longer the Kraken are a bet whatever New York is priced at; against the Rangers at -122, they stay a bet down to -155.

For the Rangers to become the bet, they would have to be +167 or longer whatever Seattle’s price, or +236 against the Kraken at +102. They are -122.

Shesterkin’s return would end it: on the full road season the gap is 2.0 points, a pass. Besides him, ESPN’s injury list has Sean Durzi, Joe Veleno, Aidan Thompson and Adam Sykora on injured reserve for New York. Seattle lists Curtis Douglas, Jared McCann, Jacob Melanson, Ryan Lindgren and Jake O’Brien on injured reserve. No other goalie is on either list. Check the lineups before you bet.

The total and the puck line

The total is 6.5, over +110 and under -130. The Kraken’s games went over 6.5 in 29 of 82, the Rangers’ in 32 of 82. Seattle’s home games averaged 6.0 goals, New York’s road games 6.29.

That is 35.4% and 39.0%, an average of 37.2% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 45.7% and the under at 54.3%, so our number leans to the under by 8.5 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only: the under is a lean, not a bet.

On the puck line, the Rangers are -1.5 at +205 and the Kraken +1.5 at -250, which is 31.5% and 68.5% without the margin. Over the full season New York won by two goals or more in 23 of 82 games, and Seattle lost by two or more in 32 of 82. Averaged, Rangers -1.5 lands 33.5% of the time against 31.5% priced, a gap of 2.1 points, under the threshold of 5. Pass on the puck line. One bet on this game: the Kraken at +102.
