Canucks vs Oilers Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Bet the Canucks. Our number makes Vancouver a 42.7% winner in Edmonton, and the price says 26.6%.

The Vancouver Canucks are +260 and the Edmonton Oilers -325 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 26.6% for Vancouver and 73.4% for Edmonton. Our number has the Oilers at 57.3%. That is still a favourite, but a much smaller one than the price allows.

How 57.3% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out.

The Oilers went 22-14-5 at Rogers Place, a 53.7% home win rate over 41 games. The Canucks went 16-22-3 on the road, a 61.0% road loss rate. Average the two and Edmonton is 57.3%, Vancouver 42.7%. Against the price, that is 16.1 points toward the Canucks.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +260 and -325 they come to 104.2%. With the margin taken out, the split is 26.6% for Vancouver and 73.4% for Edmonton.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures, and so far it has gone the price’s way. The Oilers are 11-3-3, 4-3-2 at home, and lost 5-4 to the Anaheim Ducks at home on Thursday 5 November. Tristan Jarry has played eight of their games, Devon Levi seven and Matt Tomkins two. The Canucks are 3-14-1, 2-7-1 on the road, and lost 6-2 at the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday 5 November. Leevi Merilainen has played 12 of their games and Kevin Lankinen nine. None of that is in our number.

Edmonton at home, Vancouver on the road

The Oilers at home last season scored 3.49 a game and allowed 3.41, a surplus of 0.08. That is a thin edge for a team priced at -325 in its own arena. The Canucks on the road scored 2.80 and allowed 3.80, a deficit of 1.00.

The halves the method leaves out: Edmonton on the road went 19-16-6, a 46.3% win rate, scoring 3.39 and allowing 3.15, a surplus of 0.24. Vancouver at home went 9-27-5, a 22.0% win rate, scoring 2.46 and allowing 3.90, a deficit of 1.44. The Canucks were worse in their own arena than away from it. That half is not in our number, and the road half is the one this game is played in.

The season around it

Over the full 2025-26 season the Oilers went 41-30-11 with 93 points and a goal difference of +13, then lost their playoff series to the Anaheim Ducks 4-2. The Canucks went 25-49-8 with 58 points, a goal difference of -100, and missed the playoffs.

Vancouver was competitive in close games. The Canucks went 15-9-8 in one-goal games and won 10 of the 18 that went past regulation. Edmonton went 13-11-11 in one-goal games and won 9 of its 20 past 60 minutes. The Canucks also lost by two goals or more in 40 of 82 games, which is where the gap between the two teams shows.

The Oilers won three of the four meetings in 2025-26. In Edmonton they won 3-1 on Saturday 11 October 2025 and 6-1 on Thursday 16 April 2026; both games are in both halves of our number. In Vancouver the Canucks won 4-3 in overtime on Sunday 26 October 2025, and the Oilers won 6-0 on Saturday 17 January 2026. Those two are in neither half.

Pick: Canucks +260

Bet the Canucks on the moneyline at +260. The gap is 16.1 points toward Vancouver against a threshold of 5. Below 5 points we pass; this is more than three times that.

The line read Canucks +260 and Oilers -325 on 6 November 2026 at 20:33 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Canucks +250 and Oilers -310. The market gives the Oilers 0.8 points more than at the open, 73.4% against 72.6%. The move is away from Vancouver, and small.

What kills the bet

A shorter Vancouver price. At +165 or longer the Canucks are a bet whatever Edmonton is priced at. Against the Oilers at -325, they stay a bet down to +116.

For the Oilers to become the bet, they would have to be -109 or longer, or +228 or longer against the current Vancouver price. They are -325.

The rest is on the ice. Edmonton’s start to this season is 11-3-3 and Vancouver’s is 3-14-1; neither is in our number, and that is the strongest case against this bet. The Oilers’ goaltending is also unsettled on ESPN’s injury list: Tristan Jarry is day-to-day with an illness and Devon Levi is on injured reserve, undisclosed. Zach Hyman (neck), Isaac Howard (knee) and Alec Regula (undisclosed) are on injured reserve for Edmonton. For Vancouver, Thatcher Demko is on injured reserve with a hip injury, as are Filip Chytil (upper body), Akil Thomas and Mackenzie MacEachern (both undisclosed). Tom Willander is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Check the lineups before you bet.

The total and the puck line

The total is 6.5, over -142 and under +120. The Oilers’ games went over 6.5 in 48 of 82, a 58.5% rate, and the Canucks’ in 46 of 82, 56.1%. Edmonton’s home games averaged 6.9 goals, Vancouver’s road games 6.6.

Our number puts the over at 57.3%. With the margin removed the over is priced at 56.3% and the under at 43.7%. The lean to the over is 1.0 point, well short of 5. Pass on the total.

On the puck line, Edmonton is -1.5 at -135 and Vancouver +1.5 at +114, which is 55.1% and 44.9% without the margin. Last season the Oilers won by two goals or more in 28 of 82 games, and the Canucks lost by two or more in 40 of 82. On those rates Oilers -1.5 lands 41.5% of the time against 55.1% priced, a gap of 13.7 points toward Canucks +1.5. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, on the same side. One bet on this game: the Canucks at +260.
