Jets vs Hurricanes Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

No bet on the Jets at +220. Our number leans to Winnipeg by 4.1 points, short of the 5 points we need before we bet.

The Carolina Hurricanes are -270 and the Winnipeg Jets +220 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 70.0% for Carolina and 30.0% for Winnipeg. Our number has Carolina at 65.9% and Winnipeg at 34.1%. The gap is 4.1 points toward the Jets, and the threshold is 5.

How 65.9% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out.

The Hurricanes went 29-10-2 at home, a 70.7% home win rate. The Jets went 16-19-6 on the road, a 61.0% road loss rate. Average the two and Carolina is 65.9%, Winnipeg 34.1%. That is 4.1 points better for Winnipeg than the price says.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At -270 and +220 they come to 104.2%. Taken out, the Hurricanes are 70.0% and the Jets 30.0%. Below 5 points we do not bet, and 4.1 is below 5.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. Carolina is 11-2-2, 4-1-1 at home, and beat Columbus 3-2 on Thursday 29 October. Pyotr Kochetkov has played nine of their games and Brandon Bussi six. Winnipeg is 4-7-3, 2-3-2 on the road, and lost 5-2 at Florida on Friday 30 October. Stuart Skinner has appeared in nine of their games, Nico Daws in six and Clay Stevenson in four. None of that moves our number, and it points the same way the price does.

Carolina at home, Winnipeg on the road

The Hurricanes at home scored 3.93 a game and allowed 3.07, a surplus of 0.86. The Jets on the road scored 2.61 and allowed 3.24, a deficit of 0.63. Those are the two halves inside our number.

The halves the method leaves out: Carolina on the road went 24-12-5, a 58.5% win rate, scoring 3.29 and allowing 2.78. Winnipeg at home went 19-16-6, 46.3%, scoring 3.02 and allowing 3.10. The Jets were below even on goals in both halves.

The season around it

The full season was not close. Carolina went 53-22-7 with 113 points and outscored opponents by 56. Winnipeg went 35-35-12 with 82 points, was outscored by 29, and missed the playoffs. The Hurricanes’ playoff series went 4-0 against Ottawa, 4-0 against Philadelphia, 4-1 against Montreal and 4-2 against Vegas.

Carolina went 24-4-7 in one-goal games and won 14 of the 21 that went past regulation. Winnipeg went 16-12-12 in one-goal games and won 7 of its 19 past 60 minutes. The Hurricanes won by two goals or more in 29 of 82 games; the Jets lost by two or more in 23 of 82.

Carolina won both meetings in 2025-26. The first was 4-3 in Winnipeg on Friday 21 November 2025, and it is in neither half of our number. The second was 5-1 in Carolina on Friday 28 November 2025, and it is in both halves.

Pick: No bet

No bet on the moneyline. The gap is 4.1 points toward Winnipeg against a threshold of 5. At 70.0% the price sits close to Carolina’s 70.7% home win rate, and our number only drops below it because Winnipeg’s road loss rate is 61.0%.

The line read Hurricanes -270 and Jets +220 on 31 October 2026 at 15:34 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same -270 and +220, so the market’s chances have not moved.

What kills the bet

A longer Winnipeg price makes the Jets a bet. At +244 or longer they are a bet whatever Carolina is priced at; against Carolina at -270, they become a bet at +234 or longer. They are +220.

For the Hurricanes to become the bet, they would have to be -156 or longer whatever Winnipeg is priced at, or +106 against the Jets at +220. They are -270.

ESPN’s injury list has Taylor Hall out with an upper-body injury, Alexander Nikishin out for a reason not related to injury, and Jordan Staal on injured reserve with a calf injury for Carolina. Winnipeg lists Josh Morrissey (wrist), Vladislav Namestnikov (undisclosed), Nick Bjugstad (pectoral) and Garrett Brown (lower body) on injured reserve. No goalie is on either list. Check the lineups before you bet.

The total and the puck line

The total is 6.5, over +110 and under -130. The Hurricanes’ games went over 6.5 in 44 of 82, the Jets’ in 39 of 82. Carolina’s home games averaged 7.0 goals, Winnipeg’s road games 5.85.

That is 53.7% and 47.6%, an average of 50.6% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 45.7% and the under at 54.3%, so our number leans to the over by 4.9 points. That is under 5. Pass on the total.

On the puck line, Carolina is -1.5 at -118 and Winnipeg +1.5 at -102, which is 51.7% and 48.3% without the margin. Over the full season the Hurricanes won by two goals or more in 29 of 82 games and the Jets lost by two or more in 23 of 82. Averaged, Hurricanes -1.5 lands 31.7% of the time against 51.7% priced, a gap of 20.0 points toward Jets +1.5. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean on the Jets side, never a bet of its own. The moneyline gap is 4.1, and the call on this game is no bet.
