Maple Leafs vs Canucks Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

No bet on the Canucks. Our number makes Vancouver a 43.9% winner at home against the price’s 40.7%, a gap of 3.2 points, and we bet at 5.

The Toronto Maple Leafs at Vancouver Canucks is priced Maple Leafs -162 and Canucks +136 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 59.3% for Toronto and 40.7% for Vancouver. Our number agrees on the favourite and moves Vancouver up by 3.2 points. That is too small to bet.

How 43.9% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Games at a neutral site are left out.

The Canucks went 9-27-5 at Rogers Arena, a 22.0% home win rate. The Maple Leafs went 14-21-6 on the road, a 65.9% road loss rate. Average the two and Vancouver is 43.9%, Toronto 56.1%. Against the price, that is 3.2 points toward the Canucks.

Our rule is a bet when our number and the market’s differ by at least 5 points. At 3.2, this one does not qualify. The price is close enough to our figure that the edge would be smaller than the error in a single season of results.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At -162 and +136 they come to 104.2%. Taken out, the Maple Leafs are 59.3% and the Canucks 40.7%.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. Vancouver is 3-11-1, 1-5-0 at home, and lost 3-2 at San Jose on Thursday 29 October. Leevi Merilainen has played 10 of its games in goal and Kevin Lankinen 8. Toronto is 7-6-2, 3-3-1 on the road, and lost 5-4 at Seattle on Wednesday 28 October. Sergei Bobrovsky has played 10 of its games and Anthony Stolarz 5.

The halves the method leaves out run the other way for Vancouver. The Canucks went 16-22-3 on the road, a 39.0% win rate, scoring 2.80 and allowing 3.80. Their 22.0% at home is the weaker of their two halves, and it is the one in our number. The Maple Leafs went 18-15-8 at home, a 43.9% win rate, scoring 3.29 and allowing 3.54.

The season around it

Vancouver went 25-49-8 with 58 points and was outscored by 100, scoring 2.63 a game and allowing 3.85. Toronto went 32-36-14 with 78 points and was outscored by 46. Both missed the playoffs.

The Canucks lost by two goals or more in 40 of 82 games. In one-goal games they went 15-9-8, and they won 10 of the 18 that went past regulation. The Maple Leafs went 14-4-14 in one-goal games and won 9 of 23 past 60 minutes. They lost by two or more in 32 of 82.

Toronto won both meetings in 2025-26. The 5-0 win in Toronto on Saturday 10 January is in neither half of our number. The 3-2 shootout win in Vancouver on Saturday 31 January is in both: it counts as a Canucks home loss and a Maple Leafs road win.

Pick: No bet

No bet on this game. The gap is 3.2 points toward the Canucks against a threshold of 5. On a price of +136, Vancouver’s 43.9% is not far enough from the market’s 40.7% to stake.

The line read Maple Leafs -162 and Canucks +136 on 30 October 2026 at 19:04 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, so the market’s chances are unchanged since opening.

What kills the bet

A longer Vancouver price would make this a bet. At +157 or longer the Canucks are a bet whatever Toronto is priced at; against Toronto at -162, they become a bet at +154 or longer.

For the Maple Leafs to become the bet, they would have to be -104 or longer whatever Vancouver’s price is. Against the Canucks at +136, Toronto would have to be +126 or longer. They are -162.

ESPN’s game page, read 30 October 2026 at 19:03 UTC, has Thatcher Demko on injured reserve with a hip injury, with Akil Thomas and Mackenzie MacEachern also on injured reserve for Vancouver. Toronto lists Kirill Marchenko, Miles Wood, Chris Tanev, Nick Blankenburg and Marshall Rifai on injured reserve. None of these changes our number. Check the lineups before you bet.

The total and the puck line

The total is 6.5, over -125 and under +105. The Canucks’ games went over 6.5 in 46 of 82, and so did the Maple Leafs’. Vancouver’s home games averaged 6.36 goals, Toronto’s road games 6.64.

That puts our over at 56.1%. With the margin removed the over is priced at 53.2% and the under at 46.8%, so our number leans to the over by 2.9 points. Pass on the total.

On the puck line, Toronto is -1.5 at +154 and Vancouver +1.5 at -185, which is 37.8% and 62.2% without the margin. Last season the Maple Leafs won by two goals or more in 18 of 82 games, and the Canucks lost by two or more in 40 of 82. Our number has Maple Leafs -1.5 landing 35.4% of the time, a lean of 2.4 points toward Canucks +1.5. Our method stakes the moneyline only, and the moneyline is a pass. No bet on this game.
