Kraken vs Flames Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Flames on the moneyline. Our number makes Calgary a 59.8% winner at home; the price says 48.9%.
The Calgary Flames are -105 and the Seattle Kraken -115 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 48.9% for Calgary and 51.1% for Seattle. The price has the visitors as a slight favourite. Our number has the Flames at 59.8% and the Kraken at 40.2%, and the gap between ours and the market’s is 10.9 points.
How 59.8% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Games at a neutral site are left out of both rates. A side is a bet when our number and the market’s differ by at least 5 points.
The Flames went 23-13-5 at Scotiabank Saddledome, a 56.1% home win rate. The Kraken went 15-20-6 on the road, a 63.4% road loss rate. Average the two and the Flames are 59.8%, the Kraken 40.2%. That is 10.9 points better for Calgary than the price, against a threshold of 5.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At -105 and -115 they come to 104.7%. Taken out, the Flames are 48.9% and the Kraken 51.1%.
Every input is from 2025-26. This season is outside our number. The Flames are 5-7-0, 4-3-0 at home, and lost 4-0 at Edmonton on Wednesday 28 October. Devin Cooley has played seven of their games and Dustin Wolf six. The Kraken are 8-4-1, 4-2-1 on the road, and beat Toronto 5-4 on Wednesday. Philipp Grubauer has played eight of their games and Joey Daccord six. Seattle has started better, and none of that start moves our figure.
Calgary at home, Seattle on the road
The Flames at home scored 2.93 a game and allowed 2.61, a surplus of 0.32. The Kraken on the road scored 2.56 and allowed 3.37, a deficit of 0.81. Those are the two halves in our number, and they point the same way.
The halves the method leaves out are weaker for both teams. Calgary on the road went 11-26-4, a 26.8% win rate, scoring 2.24 and allowing 3.71. Seattle at home went 19-17-5, 46.3%, scoring 2.95 and allowing 3.05. The Flames won 56.1% in Calgary and 26.8% away. Only the home half is in our number, and this game is in Calgary.
The season around it
Seattle went 34-37-11 with 79 points and was outscored by 37. Calgary went 34-39-9 with 77 points and was outscored by 47. Both missed the playoffs.
The close games were similar. Calgary went 14-6-9 in one-goal games and won 7 of the 16 that went past regulation. Seattle went 13-5-11 in one-goal games and won 8 of its 19 past 60 minutes. The Flames won by two goals or more 20 times in 82 games and lost by two or more 33 times. The Kraken won by two or more 21 times and lost by two or more 32 times.
Seattle won two of the three meetings in 2025-26. Two were in Calgary: a 4-2 Flames win on Thursday 18 December 2025 and a 5-1 Kraken win on Monday 5 January 2026. Both are inside our number, in Calgary’s home half and Seattle’s road half. The third, a 4-1 Kraken win in Seattle on Saturday 11 April 2026, is in neither half.
Pick: Flames -105
Bet the Flames on the moneyline at -105. The gap is 10.9 points toward Calgary, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Flames -105 and Kraken -115 on 29 October 2026 at 19:12 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Flames +102 and Kraken -122. Since the open the market has moved toward Calgary: the price now gives the Flames 48.9%, 1.5 points more than the 47.4% at the open.
What kills the bet
A shorter Calgary price. At -121 or longer the Flames are a bet whatever Seattle is priced at; against the Kraken at -115, they stay a bet down to -185. The current -105 is inside both.
For the Kraken to become the bet, they would have to be +184 or longer. They are -115.
The rest is on the ice. ESPN’s injury list has Devin Cooley, who has played seven of Calgary’s games this season, day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Brennan Othmann is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, and Jonathan Huberdeau and Samuel Honzek are on injured reserve. Seattle lists Jared McCann, Jacob Melanson, Ryan Lindgren and Jake O’Brien on injured reserve. Our method is re-run only when a starting goalie is ruled out, and Cooley is listed as day-to-day; Wolf has played six games of his own this season. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 6.5, over +102 and under -122. The Flames’ games went over 6.5 in 29 of 82, and so did the Kraken’s. Calgary’s home games averaged 5.54 goals, Seattle’s road games 5.93.
That is 35.4% for the over on both sides, so our over is 35.4%. With the margin removed the over is priced at 47.4% and the under at 52.6%, a gap of 12.0 points toward the under. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean to the under, not a second bet.
On the puck line, Seattle is -1.5 at +210 and Calgary +1.5 at -258, which is 30.9% and 69.1% without the margin. The Kraken won by two or more in 21 of 82 games and the Flames lost by two or more in 33 of 82. Averaged, Kraken -1.5 lands 32.9% of the time against 30.9% priced. That gap is 2.0 points, under the threshold of 5. Pass on the puck line. One bet on this game: the Flames at -105.
