Jets vs Lightning Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Bet the Jets at +195. Our number makes Winnipeg a 38.3% winner in Tampa against the price’s 32.5%, a gap of 5.8 points.

The Winnipeg Jets are +195 and the Tampa Bay Lightning -238 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 32.5% for Winnipeg and 67.5% for Tampa Bay. The price and our number agree on the favourite. They disagree on how big a favourite, and that disagreement is the bet.

How 61.7% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out of both rates.

The Lightning went 25-14-1 at home, a 62.5% home win rate. The Jets went 16-19-6 on the road, a 61.0% road loss rate. Averaged, Tampa Bay is 61.7% and Winnipeg 38.3%. The market has Tampa Bay at 67.5%, so our number sits 5.8 points closer to the Jets than the price does.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +195 and -238 the pair comes to 104.3%. With it taken out, the Jets are 32.5% and the Lightning 67.5%.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. Tampa Bay is 7-3-1, 5-0-0 at home, and lost 5-4 in overtime at Utah on Saturday 24 October. Andrei Vasilevskiy has played eight of their games and Dennis Hildeby three. Winnipeg is 4-5-3, 2-1-2 on the road, and lost 5-1 to Florida on Tuesday 27 October. Stuart Skinner has played eight of their games, Nico Daws four and Clay Stevenson four. None of that moves our number, and the Lightning’s start at home is the strongest thing outside it.

Tampa Bay at home, Winnipeg on the road

The Lightning at home scored 3.27 a game and allowed 2.75, a surplus of 0.52. The Jets on the road scored 2.61 and allowed 3.24, a deficit of 0.63. Those are the two halves the method uses.

The halves it leaves out run the other way for Tampa Bay. On the road the Lightning went 24-12-5, a 58.5% win rate, scoring 3.73 and allowing 2.83, a surplus of 0.90. By goal margin they were a better team away than at home. Winnipeg at home went 19-16-6, 46.3%, scoring 3.02 and allowing 3.10. Our view: the Lightning’s home record is the weaker of their two halves, and the method prices them on it.

Over the full season these two were far apart. Tampa Bay went 50-26-6 with 106 points and outscored opponents by 59, then lost a seven-game series to Montreal, 3-4. Winnipeg went 35-35-12 with 82 points, was outscored by 29, and missed the playoffs.

Close games were where the Jets lived. They went 16-12-12 in one-goal games and won 7 of the 19 that went past regulation. The Lightning went 15-10-6 in one-goal games and won 10 of their 16 past 60 minutes. Tampa Bay won by two goals or more in 35 of 82 games; Winnipeg lost by two or more in 23 of 82.

The two teams split their 2025-26 meetings. The Lightning won 4-1 in Tampa on Thursday 29 January 2026, and that game is inside both halves of our number. The Jets won 4-1 in Winnipeg on Thursday 5 March 2026, and that game is in neither half. Two games is a sample that proves nothing either way.

Pick: Jets +195

Bet the Jets on the moneyline at +195. The gap is 5.8 points toward Winnipeg against a threshold of 5. That is a thin edge over the line we set, and it clears it.

The line read Jets +195 and Lightning -238 on 28 October 2026 at 19:02 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, +195 and -238. The market has not moved.

What kills the bet

A shorter Winnipeg price. Against the Lightning at -238, the Jets stay a bet down to +184. At +200 or longer the Jets are a bet whatever Tampa Bay is priced at. A move from +195 to +184 is small, and it would end the bet.

For the Lightning to become the bet, they would have to be -131 or longer. They are -238.

The rest is on the ice. ESPN’s injury list has Josh Morrissey, Vladislav Namestnikov, Nick Bjugstad and Garrett Brown on injured reserve for Winnipeg. Tampa Bay lists Victor Hedman and Brandon Hagel as day-to-day, Zemgus Girgensons out and Yanni Gourde on injured reserve. No goalie is on either list. None of these absences is used to change the call. Check the lineups before you bet.

The total and the puck line

The total is 5.5, over -135 and under +114. The Lightning’s games went over 5.5 in 50 of 82, the Jets’ in 47 of 82. Tampa Bay’s home games averaged 6.02 goals, Winnipeg’s road games 5.85.

That is 61.0% and 57.3%, an average of 59.1% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 55.1% and the under at 44.9%, so our number leans to the over by 4.0 points. That is under the threshold of 5. Pass on the total.

On the puck line, Tampa Bay is -1.5 at +105 and Winnipeg +1.5 at -125, which is 46.8% and 53.2% without the margin. Over the full season the Lightning won by two goals or more in 35 of 82 games, and the Jets lost by two or more in 23 of 82. Averaged, Lightning -1.5 lands 35.4% of the time against 46.8% priced, a gap of 11.4 points toward Jets +1.5 at -125. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, on the same side. One bet on this game: the Jets at +195.
