Flames vs Avalanche Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Bet the Flames at +310. Colorado’s home record and Calgary’s road record make the Flames a 31.7% winner in Denver, against the price’s 23.4%.

The Calgary Flames are +310 and the Colorado Avalanche -395 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 23.4% for Calgary and 76.6% for Colorado. Our number has Colorado at 68.3%. That leaves an 8.3-point gap toward the Flames.

How 31.7% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out.

The Avalanche went 26-9-6 at Ball Arena, a 63.4% home win rate over 41 games. The Flames went 11-26-4 on the road, a 73.2% road loss rate. Average the two and Colorado is 68.3%, Calgary 31.7%. The price has Calgary at 23.4%, so our number is 8.3 points higher on the Flames.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +310 and -395 the two come to 104.2%. Taken out, the Flames are 23.4% and the Avalanche 76.6%.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. The Avalanche are 7-5-1, 5-1-1 at home, and beat New Jersey 5-2 on Wednesday, 28 October. Mackenzie Blackwood has played nine of their games and Scott Wedgewood four. The Flames are 5-7-0, 1-4-0 on the road, and lost 4-0 in Edmonton the same night. Devin Cooley has played seven of their games and Dustin Wolf six, and Cooley is now on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

The halves the method leaves out cut in Colorado’s favour. The Avalanche on the road went 29-7-5, a 70.7% win rate, scoring 3.54 and allowing 2.32. That is a better rate than their 63.4% at home. Calgary at home went 23-13-5, 56.1%, scoring 2.93 and allowing 2.61. Colorado’s road half is not in our number. Our number uses the home rate, which is the lower one.

Pick: Flames +310

Bet the Flames on the moneyline at +310. The gap is 8.3 points toward Calgary, against a threshold of 5.

The line read Flames +310 and Avalanche -395 on 30 October 2026 at 19:04 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at +320 and -410. Since the open, the market gives the Flames 0.6 points more, 23.4% against 22.8%.

What kills the bet

A shorter Calgary price. At +274 or longer the Flames are a bet whatever Colorado is priced at. Against Colorado at -395, they stay a bet down to +244.

For the Avalanche to become the bet, they would need to be -172 or longer whatever Calgary’s price, or +138 or longer against the Flames at +310. They are -395.

ESPN’s injury list, read 30 October 2026 at 19:03 UTC, has Connor Zary and Brennan Othmann out for Calgary. It also has Cooley, Jonathan Huberdeau and Samuel Honzek on injured reserve. For Colorado it lists Josh Manson out, Logan O’Connor day-to-day for personal reasons, and Zachary L’Heureux on injured reserve. None of these is in our number. Check the lineups before you bet.

The Avalanche won by two or more in 41 of 82 games, and the Flames lost by two or more in 33 of 82. Our number has Colorado -1.5 landing 45.1% of the time against 59.3% priced, a 14.2-point gap toward Flames +1.5. It sits on the same side as the pick, and it stays a lean.
