Senators vs Flyers Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
No bet on the Flyers at +110. Our number leans to Philadelphia by 3.1 points, and the bar for a bet is 5.
The Ottawa Senators are -130 on the road and the Philadelphia Flyers +110 at DraftKings. Without the margin, the market makes Ottawa 54.3% and Philadelphia 45.7%. Our number has the Flyers at 48.8%. Ottawa is the favourite by both counts. We have it as a smaller one, and 3.1 points is not enough to bet the other side.
Two identical rates make 48.8%
Our home win chance averages two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own building and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. An overtime or shootout win counts as a win. Games at a neutral site sit in neither half, and neither team played one.
Philadelphia went 20-13-8 at home: 20 wins, 13 regulation losses, 8 losses after regulation, a 48.8% home win rate over 41 games. Ottawa went 21-15-5 on the road and lost 20 of 41, a 48.8% road loss rate. The two rates are the same, so the average is too: Philadelphia 48.8%, Ottawa 51.2%.
The price asks for more than that. It wants an Ottawa road team that won clearly more often than it lost, and the Senators won 21 of 41.
The margin is the extra a book adds to both prices so they come to more than 100%. At -130 and +110 they come to 104.1%. Taken out, the Senators are 54.3% and the Flyers 45.7%.
The case against even a lean is this season, and it is strong. Philadelphia has not won a game: 0-6-3, the latest a 2-1 loss in Detroit on Thursday. Ottawa is 6-2-0, beat the New York Islanders 2-1 in a shootout on Thursday, and beat the Flyers 2-1 in Ottawa on 8 October. None of it is in the figures, which are 41 Philadelphia home games and 41 Ottawa road games from 2025-26. Both teams had Friday off.
Philadelphia at home, Ottawa on the road
The goals are as level as the rates. At home the Flyers scored 2.71 a game and allowed 2.76, outscored by 0.05. The Senators on the road scored 3.39 and allowed 3.37, ahead by 0.02.
The halves the method leaves out show two different teams. Philadelphia on the road went 23-14-4, a 56.1% win rate, scoring 3.39 and allowing 3.17. Ottawa at home went 23-12-6, also 56.1%, scoring 3.39 and allowing 2.63.
Over the season the Senators finished one point ahead. They went 44-27-11 with 99 points and outscored opponents by 32. The Flyers went 43-27-12 with 98 points and outscored opponents by 7. Both reached the playoffs, and Carolina ended both: it swept Ottawa 4-0, and swept Philadelphia 4-0 after the Flyers beat Pittsburgh 4-2.
Philadelphia played a lot of overtime. The Flyers went past regulation 28 times and won 16 of them, and went 17-5-12 in one-goal games. Ottawa went past regulation 17 times and won 6, went 16-10-11 in one-goal games, and won 28 of its 44 games by two goals or more.
Ottawa won all three meetings in 2025-26, each by one goal. Two were in Philadelphia, a 3-2 overtime win on 8 November 2025 and a 2-1 overtime win on 5 February, and both are in our number: they are among the Flyers’ 41 home games and the Senators’ 41 road games. The 2-1 Ottawa win at Canadian Tire Centre on 23 October 2025 is in neither half.

What makes it a bet
A longer Flyers price. Against Ottawa at -130, Philadelphia becomes a bet at +127. At +129 or longer the Flyers are a bet whatever Ottawa is priced at.
Ottawa needs a much bigger move: +117 or longer before it becomes the bet, and it is -130.
Price is one unknown; the lineups are the other. This page states nothing about who plays for either team on 17 October. Check both before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 5.5, over -122 and under +102. The Flyers’ games went over 5.5 in 44 of 82, the Senators’ in 45 of 82. Philadelphia’s home games averaged 5.47 goals, Ottawa’s road games 6.76.
That is 53.7% and 54.9%, an average of 54.3%. The over at -122 is priced at 52.6% once the margin is out, and the under at 47.4%. A gap of 1.7 points toward the over. Pass on the total.
The puck line has Ottawa -1.5 at +195 and Philadelphia +1.5 at -238, which is 32.5% and 67.5% without the margin. The Senators won by two goals or more in 28 of 82 games. The Flyers lost by two or more in 22 of 82. Averaged, Ottawa -1.5 lands 30.5% of the time against 32.5% priced, a gap of 2.0 points toward Flyers +1.5. Pass. The call on this game is no bet.
