Cavaliers vs Thunder Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Take the Thunder on the moneyline. Last season’s splits give Oklahoma City at home 61.0%; the price gives them 55.7%.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are +117 and the Oklahoma City Thunder -138 at DraftKings for Wednesday 4 November, 8:00 PM ET, at Paycom Center. With the margin out, that is 44.3% for Cleveland and 55.7% for Oklahoma City. Our number puts the Thunder 5.3 points higher than the market. We bet at 5, so this clears the bar narrowly.
How 61.0% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Neutral-site games are in neither half. Oklahoma City played one, Cleveland none.
The Thunder went 34-7 at Paycom Center, an 82.9% home win rate over 41 games. The Cavaliers went 25-16 on the road, a 39.0% road loss rate. The midpoint is 61.0% for Oklahoma City and 39.0% for Cleveland.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At -138 and +117 they come to 104.1%. With that removed, the Thunder are 55.7% and the Cavaliers 44.3%. The gap is 5.3 points toward Oklahoma City.
What the number does not see
This season is outside the method. Oklahoma City is 5-2, 3-0 at home. Cleveland is 4-3, 1-2 on the road. The two teams played two days before this game: the Thunder won 117-112 in Cleveland on Monday 2 November. That result is not in our number.
The bigger blind spot is the injury list. ESPN’s game page, read 3 November 2026 at 10:32 UTC, lists five Thunder players out: Chet Holmgren (knee), Jalen Williams (leg), Alex Caruso (ankle), Cason Wallace (shoulder) and Thomas Sorber (knee). Our method reads last season’s results and does not read the injury list, so the number is unchanged. That gap between last season’s team and tonight’s lineup is the main risk in this bet.
Oklahoma City at home, Cleveland on the road
The method uses these two halves. At home the Thunder scored 119.1 points a game and allowed 107.3, a margin of 11.8. The Cavaliers on the road scored 119.9 and allowed 116.2, a margin of 3.7.
The method leaves out the other two halves. Oklahoma City on the road went 30-10, scoring 119.2 and allowing 108.3. Cleveland at home went 27-14, scoring 119.2 and allowing 114.6. Those splits point the same way as the ones we use.
The 2025-26 season
The Thunder finished 64-18, first seed in the West, with a point difference of 11.1 a game. The Cavaliers finished 52-30, fourth seed in the East, at 4.1 a game. Oklahoma City won 43 games by 10 or more and lost 9 that way. Cleveland won 27 by 10 or more and lost 17.
Close games, decided by 5 points or fewer, went the other way. Cleveland was 13-7 in them and Oklahoma City 9-7. Twenty games is too few to call that a skill.
In the playoffs the Thunder swept the Phoenix Suns 4-0 and the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0, then lost to the San Antonio Spurs 4-3. The Cavaliers beat the Toronto Raptors 4-3 and the Detroit Pistons 4-3, then were swept 4-0 by the New York Knicks.
The Thunder won both regular-season meetings. On 22 February 2026 in Oklahoma City they won 121-113. That game is in our number: one of the Thunder’s 41 home games and one of the Cavaliers’ 41 road games. On 19 January 2026 in Cleveland they won 136-104. That game is in neither half.
Pick: Thunder -138
Our threshold is a 5-point gap between our number and the market’s. The gap here is 5.3 toward Oklahoma City. Bet the Thunder on the moneyline at -138.
The line read Thunder -138 and Cavaliers +117 on 3 November 2026 at 10:32 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Thunder -137 and Cavaliers +116. Since the open, the market gives the Thunder 0.2 points more, 55.7% against 55.5%.
What kills the bet
A more expensive Thunder price. With the Cavaliers at +117, the Thunder stay a bet up to -142. At -127 or longer, they are a bet whatever Cleveland is priced at. The 0.3-point cushion above the threshold is thin, and a small move ends it.
For the Cavaliers to become the bet, they would need +235 or longer against the current Thunder price. At +194 or longer, they are a bet whatever Oklahoma City is priced at. They are +117 now.
ESPN’s list also has Peyton Watson (hamstring) and Jaylon Tyson (ankle) day-to-day for Cleveland. None of the seven names moves our number. With five Thunder players out, check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the spread
The total is 227.5, over -110 and under -110. The Thunder’s home games went over 227.5 in 18 of 41 and averaged 226.4 points. The Cavaliers’ road games went over in 30 of 41 and averaged 236.1. Across all 82 games, Oklahoma City went over in 40 and Cleveland in 54.
Those home and road rates are 43.9% and 73.2%, an average of 58.5% for the over. The market prices the over at 50.0%, so our count leans over by 8.5 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only. This is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is Thunder -2.5 at -115 and Cavaliers +2.5 at -105, unchanged from the open. Oklahoma City covered -2.5 in 32 of 41 home games. Cleveland covered +2.5 in 28 of 41 road games. Averaged, Thunder -2.5 lands 54.9% of the time against 51.1% priced, a gap of 3.8 points. That is a lean on the same side as the pick, below our threshold. One bet on this game: the Thunder at -138.
