Magic vs Knicks Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Magic at +240. Our number gives Orlando on the road 36.9%. The price gives them 28.2%.
The Orlando Magic are +240 and the New York Knicks -298 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 28.2% for Orlando and 71.8% for New York. Last season’s home and road records put Orlando 8.7 points higher than the market. We bet at 5.
How 36.9% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Neither half counts neutral-site games. New York played one of those and Orlando three.
The Knicks went 30-10 at Madison Square Garden, a 75.0% home win rate over 40 games. The Magic went 19-20 on the road, a 51.3% road loss rate over 39 games. Averaged, that is 63.1% for New York and 36.9% for Orlando.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At +240 and -298 the two prices come to 104.3%. Take it out and the Magic are 28.2%, the Knicks 71.8%.
This season has started 0-2 for both teams. The Knicks lost 107-103 at the Boston Celtics on Friday 23 October and are 0-1 at home. The Magic lost 115-93 to the Minnesota Timberwolves the same night and are 0-0 on the road. Our number reads 2025-26 only, so none of these games are in it. It also cannot see who changed teams over the summer or who is hurt tonight. That is the main risk in this bet.
New York at home, Orlando on the road
At home the Knicks scored 119.0 points a game and allowed 109.0, a margin of 10.0. On the road the Magic scored 115.5 and allowed 115.4, a margin of 0.1. Those two splits are the whole of our number.
The method leaves out the other two halves. New York went 22-19 on the road, scoring 113.6 and allowing 111.0. Orlando went 25-15 at home, scoring 116.0 and allowing 114.2.
The season around it
The Knicks finished 53-29, the third seed in the Eastern Conference. They scored 116.5 a game and allowed 110.1, a difference of 6.4. They won 32 games by 10 or more and lost 19 that way. In the playoffs they beat the Atlanta Hawks 4-2, the Philadelphia 76ers 4-0, the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 and the San Antonio Spurs 4-1.
The Magic finished 45-37, the eighth seed. They scored 115.7 and allowed 115.1, a difference of 0.6. They won 19 games by 10 or more and lost 19 by the same margin. Their playoffs ended in a 4-3 series loss to the Detroit Pistons.
Close games, decided by 5 points or fewer, went 19-12 for Orlando and 11-5 for New York. The Magic played 5 overtime games and the Knicks 2.
The teams split four meetings. In New York, the Magic won 124-107 on 12 November 2025 and the Knicks won 106-100 on 7 December 2025. Both games are in our number: two of the Knicks’ 40 home games and two of the Magic’s 39 road games. Orlando won 133-121 at home on 22 November 2025, and New York won 132-120 at a neutral site on 13 December 2025. Neither of those is in either half.
Pick: Magic +240
Bet the Magic on the moneyline at +240. The gap is 8.7 points toward Orlando, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Magic +240 and Knicks -298 on 25 October 2026 at 13:01 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Magic +250 and Knicks -310. Since the open the market gives Orlando 0.8 points more, 28.2% against 27.4%. The move is toward the Magic, and the edge is still above the threshold.
What kills the bet
The first thing is a shorter Orlando price. At +213 or longer the Magic are a bet whatever New York is priced at. With the Knicks at -298, they stay a bet down to +185.
For the Knicks to become the bet, they would need to be -138 or longer whatever the Orlando price. Against the current Magic price, a Knicks line of +145 or longer would do it. The current -298 is a long way from either.
ESPN’s injury list for the game was read 25 October 2026 at 13:01 UTC. It lists Paolo Banchero (ankle), Jonathan Isaac (knee), Noah Penda (hamstring) and Izaiyah Nelson (ankle) as out for Orlando, with Anthony Black (ankle) day-to-day. For New York it lists Jose Alvarado (ankle) as day-to-day. The list is not in our number, and it does not change the call. Four Orlando players are out. A road rate built on last season’s roster carries that risk, and the price is part of what pays for it. Check the lineups before you bet.
Our number still gives the Knicks a 63.1% chance to win. The case is that +240 pays more than a 36.9% chance is worth.
The total and the spread
The total is 223.5, over -115 and under -105. The Knicks’ home games went over 223.5 in 21 of 40, a 52.5% rate, and averaged 228.0 points. The Magic’s road games went over in 21 of 39, 53.8%, and averaged 230.9. Across all 82 games, New York went over 42 times and Orlando 51.
Averaged, our count gives the over 53.2%. With the margin out the market prices the over at 51.1% and the under at 48.9%. The lean is 2.1 points to the over, below the threshold. Pass.
The spread is Knicks -7.5 at -110 and Magic +7.5 at -110, unchanged from the open. Against this line, New York’s home games went the Knicks’ way in 22 of 40. Orlando’s road games went the Magic’s way in 26 of 39. Averaged, Knicks -7.5 lands 44.2% of the time against 50.0% priced, a gap of 5.8 points toward Magic +7.5. Our method stakes the moneyline, so this is a lean on the same side and not a second bet. One bet on this game: the Magic at +240.
