Saints at Ravens Final Score: New Orleans Wins in Baltimore Outright

New Orleans won 24-17 in Baltimore. We took the Saints and the 8.5, and they won the game outright, so the call landed by 15.5.

The Week 2 card finished 8 positions won, 7 lost, one no bet. This was the best of the winners on price.

Baltimore led 14-6 at the half and 17-9 after three. New Orleans then scored 15 unanswered in the fourth quarter and Baltimore scored nothing. That is the game, and it is the sort of finish that makes a nine-point number look silly in hindsight and perfectly reasonable at the time.

New Orleans held the ball for 32:45 and converted 8 of 15 on third down. Baltimore converted 4 of 9 and had it for 27:15. Sustaining drives in the fourth quarter with a lead to chase is the hard version of that stat, and the Saints did it.

Concede the obvious: Baltimore turned it over once and New Orleans not at all, and a single giveaway in a seven-point game is enough to explain it. It still went our way.

The number

Baltimore closed at -8.5 and the Saints covered outright. The total closed at 45 and the game produced 41, so the under won by four.

What we said before kickoff

The prediction below is unchanged, so you can read the card as it was written and mark it yourself.

New Orleans is getting 8.5 in Baltimore. Take the Saints and the points.

The record is 0-0. Nothing on this card has been graded yet, so there are no units won, none lost and no rate to quote. It sits at the top of every card from here, and it stays there after a losing week as well.

One unit is one per cent of the bankroll. Every bet below is one unit unless its heading says otherwise, and the stake does not go up on the ones we like.

Where the price has gone

On 16 September this card took New Orleans +7.5. The side has not changed and the number has grown. Read on 17 September 2026 at 05:24 UTC, six of the eleven books quoting this game have the Saints at +8.5, three have +9, Fanatics has +8 and Bovada still has +7.5.

The total has gone the other way. It was 48.5 on 14 September and 47.5 on 16 September. Now it is 46.5 at eight books and 47 at three, and the under on this card has to be bought at 47.

New Orleans Saints +8.5 (-110)

A 6-11 team getting our money on the road? Look at when the six wins came.

New Orleans lost eight of its first nine games in 2025 and was outscored by 105 points across them. From Week 10 it went 5-3 and outscored its opponents by 28. In those last eight games it lost by more than 8.5 once, 24-10 at home to Atlanta.

The points moved at both ends. Across the first nine games the Saints scored 15.3 a game and allowed 27.0. Across the last eight they scored 21.0 and allowed 17.5. That is a different defence, and it is the one we would rather take nine points with.

Week 1 looked like that second half of the season. New Orleans lost 31-30 in overtime at Detroit as a 7-point underdog, so the Saints side of the spread won. They trailed 7-0 at half-time, scored 24 after the break and were level at 24-24 when regulation ended.

Now the home side. Baltimore went 3-6 at home in 2025, scoring 21.9 points a game there and allowing 25.4. It won by more than 8.5 in three of those nine games: 41-17 over Cleveland, 30-16 over Chicago and 23-10 over the Jets. On the road it went 5-3.

Here is the concession, and it is a real one. Baltimore won 41-23 at Indianapolis in Week 1, closing as a 3-point favourite, and led 31-13 at half-time. The Saints went 3-6 on the road last season and allowed 25.3 points a game there. They lost four road games by 12 or more, and every one of the four came in the first nine weeks: 44-13 at Seattle, 31-19 at Buffalo, 26-14 at Chicago and 34-10 at the Rams.

We think the team that lost by one in Detroit is the later version of New Orleans. And Baltimore won by nine or more at home three times in nine tries last season. Take the points.

Price: +8.5 at six books, from -109 at Caesars to -115 at DraftKings and FanDuel, read 17 September 2026, 05:24 UTC. At -109 the bet needs to win 52.2% of the time to break even. At -115 it needs 53.5%.

The three books at +9 charge -118 and -120, which need 54.1% and 54.5%. Bovada’s +7.5 at +105 needs 48.8% and hands back a full point to get there. Caesars at -109 is our reference line. Shop around.

Our side is the dearer one. New Orleans +8.5 is -115 at DraftKings and FanDuel, where Baltimore -8.5 is -105. The books lean our way at this number, and we pay for it.

Worst price to bet: New Orleans +7 (-110), which needs 52.4%. At +6.5 we pass.

New Orleans moneyline (+320), a quarter unit

This is the one bet off the one-unit convention, and the heading says so. The median moneyline across eleven books is Baltimore -417 and New Orleans +320. With the bookmaker’s margin removed, that prices the Saints to win this game 22.8% of the time. At +320 the bet needs 23.8%.

Moneyline implies Saints 22.8 percent, Ravens 77.2 percentChance to win the game, as pricedSaints 22.8%Ravens 77.2%From the median moneylines of 11 books, Saints +320 and Ravens -417, margin removed.

So we are saying the market is about a point light on New Orleans. That is opinion, and the calculation is the 1.0-point gap between those two rates. Personally, we think Baltimore’s home record carries it: six losses in nine games there last season, and 2-5 across the whole year in games decided by eight points or fewer. It is the same view as the spread bet held twice, which is why it gets a quarter unit and no more.

Worst price to bet: +280, which needs 26.3%.

Under 47 (-108)

On 16 September this card took the under at 47.5, set the worst price at under 47 (-110) and said it would pass at 46.5. Eight books are at 46.5 now. Three are still at 47, with the under at -108 at BetRivers and -110 at Bovada and MyBookie. That is inside the floor, so the bet stays on.

The case for it is New Orleans. The Saints’ 2025 games had a median of 40 points. Against 47, thirteen finished under, one landed on it and three went over.

Here is the concession. Baltimore’s games had a median of 49, and five of the Ravens’ nine home games went over 47. Both Week 1 games went over their closing totals as well, 61 against 49.5 and 64 against 48.

Why not the cheaper 46.5? DraftKings and Caesars have that under at -102, which needs 50.5%. A 47-point game loses there and pushes at 47, and the Saints played one last season, 26-21 at home to San Francisco. And 46.5 is where this card said it would pass. Give me the under at 47.

Price: under 47 at -108 at BetRivers and -110 at Bovada and MyBookie, read 17 September 2026, 05:24 UTC. At -108 the bet needs 51.9%. At -110 it needs 52.4%.

Worst price to bet: under 47 (-110). At 46.5 we pass.

What would change the call

The injury reports. Nothing on this card says who is available for the 1:00 PM ET kickoff on Sunday, and both reports should be read before a bet goes on.

The spread at +6.5 or shorter. That is past our floor, and the Saints bet comes off the card.

The last three books moving to 46.5. Then there is no 47 left to buy, and the under comes off the card.

Every price here was read on 17 September 2026, every bet is one unit except the quarter on the moneyline, and the record at the top moves after Sunday.
