Flames at Canucks Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
The Canucks won 9 of 41 at home last season. Our number makes the Flames 52.4%: bet the Flames at +111 or better, the Canucks at +135 or better.
Our number is 47.6% for the Vancouver Canucks and 52.4% for the Calgary Flames. No line had been posted for this game as of 30 September 2026. A side becomes a bet when the market, with its margin removed, sits at least 5 points below our number for it.
How the number is built
The method is one clause: our home win chance is the average of the home team’s 2025-26 home win rate and the visitor’s 2025-26 road loss rate, with a win in overtime or a shootout counted as a win.
The Canucks went 9-27-5 at home last season: 9 wins, 27 regulation losses and 5 losses after regulation. That is a 22.0% home win rate over 41 games. The Flames went 11-26-4 on the road, so they lost 30 of 41, a 73.2% road loss rate. The average of the two is 47.6% for the Canucks, which leaves 52.4% for the Flames.
It is a new season. Rosters change over a summer, and nothing on this page measures what changed. The 2026-27 season opened on 29 September, and no game from it is in these figures. The evidence is 82 games from last season, 41 at home for the Canucks and 41 on the road for the Flames.
The Canucks at home, the Flames on the road
At home, the Canucks scored 2.46 goals a game and allowed 3.90. The Flames on the road scored 2.24 and allowed 3.71. The visitor scored 0.22 a game fewer and allowed 0.19 fewer.
The Canucks won more away from home. Their road record was 16-22-3, seven wins more than at home. The method uses only the home half, and it is the weaker one. The Flames were weaker on the road than at home, 11-26-4 against 23-13-5. Their road half is the one the method uses.
The Canucks finished 25-49-8 with 58 points, scoring 2.63 goals a game and allowing 3.85, a margin of -1.22. The Flames finished 34-39-9 with 77 points, scoring 2.59 goals a game and allowing 3.16, a margin of -0.57. Neither team reached the playoffs.
The Canucks played 32 one-goal games and went 15-9-8 in them. The Flames played 29 one-goal games and went 14-6-9 in them. Games that went past 60 minutes: 18 of 82 for the Canucks, 16 of 82 for the Flames. A loss in any of them counts as a loss in our number.
The teams met three times in 2025-26, and the Flames won two. The Canucks won 5-1 at home on 9 October; the Flames won 5-2 on the road on 23 November; the Flames won 7-3 at home on 28 March. Three games prove nothing about a fourth.
The price
There is no line to measure against yet, so here are the prices at which this becomes a bet. The Canucks need the market to rate them at 42.6% or less, with the margin removed. At +135 or better, that holds whatever the Flames are priced at. The Flames need 47.4% or less, and +111 or better does it.
Our number has the Flames 2.4 points above even. With a gap that small, a bet on either side needs a price above even money: +111 for the Flames, +135 for the Canucks.
No total or puck line had been posted either. For reference, the Canucks’ home games averaged 6.36 goals (2.46 scored plus 3.90 allowed), and the Flames’ road games 5.95 (2.24 plus 3.71). Without a posted total there is nothing to compare them with.
Pick: Flames at +111 or better, Canucks at +135 or better
Our number is 47.6% for the Canucks. With no line posted, the call is the pair of prices above. Between them, pass.
It rests on 82 games, 41 at home for the Canucks and 41 on the road for the Flames, all from last season.
What changes it
The price. The line posted on the day decides it. A Canucks price of +134 or a Flames price of +110 may still qualify, depending on the size of the book’s margin, and that check is made against the posted pair.
The summer is the other thing. A season of home and road results says how these teams played in 2025-26. Nothing on this page says who is in either lineup on 3 October. Check the lineups before you bet.
