Predators vs Avalanche Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Predators. Colorado’s price asks for a 67.5% home win, and our number gives the Avalanche 60.5%.
The Nashville Predators are +195 and the Colorado Avalanche -238 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 32.5% for Nashville and 67.5% for Colorado. Our number is 39.5% for the Predators. That 7.0-point gap is the whole argument.
How 60.5% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins, and neutral-site games are left out. A side is a bet when our number and the market’s differ by at least 5 points.
The Avalanche went 26-9-6 at Ball Arena, a 63.4% home win rate. The Predators went 17-16-7 on the road, a 57.5% road loss rate. Average the two and Colorado is 60.5%, Nashville 39.5%.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At -238 and +195 they come to 104.3%. Taken out, the Avalanche are 67.5% and the Predators 32.5%. Our number has Colorado as the right favourite, at a shorter distance than the price.
Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. The Avalanche are 9-6-1, 6-1-1 at home, and lost 7-2 in Columbus on Tuesday 3 November. Mackenzie Blackwood has played 12 of their games and Scott Wedgewood 5. The Predators are 6-4-5, 1-1-3 on the road, and beat Carolina 4-1 on Tuesday 3 November. Juuse Saros has played 11 of their games and Justus Annunen 3.
Colorado at home, Nashville on the road
The Avalanche at home scored 3.83 a game and allowed 2.63, a surplus of 1.2. The Predators on the road scored 3.0 and allowed 3.33, a deficit of 0.33. Those are the two halves inside our number.
The halves the method leaves out: Colorado on the road went 29-7-5, a 70.7% win rate, scoring 3.54 and allowing 2.32. Nashville at home went 20-17-3, 50.0%, scoring 3.12 and allowing 3.27. The Avalanche won more often away from Ball Arena than in it last season. That is the one place where the method is kinder to Nashville than the full picture, and it is not in our number.
Over the full season Colorado went 55-16-11 with 121 points and a goal difference of +99, scoring 3.68 a game and allowing 2.48. It swept Los Angeles 4-0, beat Minnesota 4-1, then was swept 4-0 by Vegas. Nashville went 38-34-10 with 86 points, was outscored by 22, and missed the playoffs.
The Predators were a better team in close games than their record suggests. They went 20-8-10 in one-goal games and won 10 of the 20 that went past regulation. Colorado went 14-4-11 in one-goal games and won 7 of its 18 past 60 minutes. The Avalanche won by two goals or more in 41 of 82 games; Nashville lost by two or more in 26 of 82.
The teams met four times in 2025-26 and split them. In Nashville, Colorado won 3-0 on 22 November and Nashville won 4-3 in a shootout on 9 December; those two are in neither half of our number. In Denver, Colorado won 4-2 on 13 December and Nashville won 7-3 on 16 January. Both of those are inside our number, in each half.
Pick: Predators +195
Bet the Predators on the moneyline at +195. The gap is 7.0 points toward Nashville, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Predators +195 and Avalanche -238 on 4 November 2026 at 16:32 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices: +195 and -238. The market has not moved.
What kills the bet
A shorter Nashville price. At +190 or longer the Predators are a bet whatever Colorado is priced at. Against Colorado at -238, they stay a bet down to +170. Below that, pass.
For the Avalanche to become the bet, they would have to be -124 or longer whatever Nashville is priced at, or +137 or longer against the Predators at +195. They are -238.
The rest is on the ice. ESPN’s injury list, read 4 November 2026 at 16:32 UTC, has Josh Manson (D) out with an ankle injury and Zachary L’Heureux (LW) on injured reserve with an upper-body injury for Colorado. Nashville lists Jonathan Marchessault (RW) as day-to-day with a lower-body injury. No goalie is on either list. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 6.5, over -102 and under -118. The Avalanche’s games went over 6.5 in 32 of 82, a 39.0% rate; the Predators’ in 35 of 82, 42.7%. Colorado’s home games averaged 6.46 goals, Nashville’s road games 6.33.
Averaged, our number has the over at 40.9%. With the margin removed the over is priced at 48.3% and the under at 51.7%, so our number leans to the under by 7.4 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so the under is a lean, not a bet.
On the puck line, Colorado is -1.5 at +100 and Nashville +1.5 at -120, which is 47.8% and 52.2% without the margin. Averaged from the Avalanche winning by two or more in 41 of 82 and the Predators losing by two or more in 26 of 82, Colorado -1.5 lands 40.9% of the time. That is a 7.0-point gap toward Predators +1.5, a lean on the same side as the pick. One bet on this game: the Predators at +195.
