Blues vs Devils Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Take the Blues. New Jersey won 51.2% of its home games last season, and the price makes the Devils a 63.1% favourite.

The St. Louis Blues are +160 and the New Jersey Devils -192 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 36.9% for St. Louis and 63.1% for New Jersey. Our number has the Devils at 54.9% and the Blues at 45.1%. The 8.2-point gap toward St. Louis is the whole argument.

How 54.9% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins. Neutral-site games are left out. A side is a bet when our number and the market’s differ by at least 5 points.

The Devils went 21-17-3 at Prudential Center, a 51.2% home win rate. The Blues went 17-19-5 on the road, a 58.5% road loss rate once overtime and shootout losses count. Average the two and New Jersey is 54.9%, St. Louis 45.1%. The price has the Devils 8.2 points higher than that.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At -192 and +160 they come to 104.2%. Taken out, the Devils are 63.1% and the Blues 36.9%.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is outside the method, and it has started well for New Jersey. The Devils are 10-5-0, 7-2-0 at home, and beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in a shootout at home on Tuesday 3 November. Jake Allen has played eight of their games and Connor Hellebuyck three. The Blues are 7-7-1, 3-5-0 on the road, and lost 3-1 to the New York Rangers in New York on the same night. Joel Hofer has played 11 of their games and Jordan Binnington four. None of that is in our number.

New Jersey at home, St. Louis on the road

The Devils at home scored 2.95 a game and allowed 3.02 last season, a deficit of 0.07. The Blues on the road scored 2.80 and allowed 3.22, a deficit of 0.42. Neither half describes a strong team.

The halves the method leaves out: New Jersey on the road went 21-20-0, the same 51.2% win rate it had at home, scoring 2.66 and allowing 3.17. St. Louis at home went 20-14-7, a 48.8% win rate, scoring 2.83 and allowing 3.07. The Devils won as often away as at home. In our view that is a small point against the idea that Prudential Center is worth a premium.

The season around it

Over 82 games these two finished close. New Jersey went 42-37-3 with 87 points and was outscored by 24 in the Eastern Conference. St. Louis went 37-33-12 with 86 points and was outscored by 27 in the Western Conference. Both missed the playoffs.

Past regulation the two split sharply. The Devils went 20-8-3 in one-goal games and won 13 of the 16 that went past 60 minutes. The Blues went 18-9-12 in one-goal games and won 4 of their 16 past regulation. Our method counts those overtime and shootout results as wins and losses, so the 13 and the 4 are both inside it.

New Jersey won both meetings in 2025-26. The 3-2 overtime win on Wednesday 26 November 2025 was played in New Jersey, so it sits inside both halves of our number. The 3-1 Devils win on Saturday 28 February 2026 was played in St. Louis, and it is in neither half.

Pick: Blues +160

Bet the Blues on the moneyline at +160. The gap is 8.2 points toward St. Louis against a threshold of 5.

The line read Blues +160 and Devils -192 on 4 November 2026 at 16:32 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Blues +150 and Devils -180. Since the open the market has moved toward New Jersey: it gave the Devils 61.6% at the opening price and gives them 63.1% now.

What kills the bet

A shorter St. Louis price. At +150 or longer the Blues are a bet whatever New Jersey is priced at. Against the Devils at -192, they stay a bet down to +127.

For the Devils to become the bet, they would have to be +101 or longer, or +161 or longer with the Blues still at +160. They are -192.

The rest is on the ice. New Jersey’s start is strong and St. Louis is 3-5-0 on the road this season, and neither record is in our number. ESPN’s injury list has Colton Parayko day-to-day with an upper-body injury for St. Louis, and Logan Mailloux, Torey Krug, Dillon Dube and Tyler Tucker on injured reserve. New Jersey lists Seamus Casey on injured reserve with a knee injury. No goalie is on either list. Check the lineups before you bet.

The total and the puck line

The total is 5.5, over -122 and under +102. The Devils’ games went over 5.5 in 40 of 82, the Blues’ in 39 of 82. New Jersey’s home games averaged 5.97 goals and St. Louis’s road games 6.02.

Those rates are 48.8% and 47.6%, an average of 48.2% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 52.6% and the under at 47.4%. Our number leans to the under by 4.4 points, short of the 5-point threshold. Pass on the total.

On the puck line, New Jersey is -1.5 at +136 and St. Louis +1.5 at -162, which is 40.7% and 59.3% without the margin. Last season the Devils won by two goals or more in 22 of 82 games, and the Blues lost by two or more in 24 of 82. Averaged, Devils -1.5 lands 28.0% of the time against 40.7% priced. That is a gap of 12.6 points toward Blues +1.5 at -162. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean on the same side. One bet on this game: the Blues at +160.
