Rockets vs Suns Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Suns at +199. Our number gives Phoenix at home 53.7%; the price gives them 32.1%.
The Houston Rockets are -241 and the Phoenix Suns +199 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 67.9% for Houston and 32.1% for Phoenix. Last season’s home and road records put Phoenix 21.6 points higher than the market does. We bet at 5.
How 53.7% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates. One is the home team’s win rate in its own arena. The other is the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Neither team played a game at a neutral site, so nothing is left out of either half.
The Suns went 25-16 at home, a 61.0% win rate over 41 games. The Rockets went 22-19 on the road, a 46.3% road loss rate. The average is 53.7% for Phoenix and 46.3% for Houston.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At +199 and -241 they add to 104.1%. Taken out, the Rockets are 67.9% and the Suns 32.1%. The 21.6-point gap toward Phoenix is the whole argument.
This season is where the market’s view comes from, and our number does not read it. Houston is 7-2, 3-1 on the road, and lost 117-107 to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday 4 November. Phoenix is 2-5, 2-2 at home, and beat the Orlando Magic 117-104 on Thursday 5 November. Seven and nine games are small samples. They are still the largest risk to this bet, because the price has absorbed them and our number has not.
Phoenix at home, Houston on the road
At home last season the Suns scored 112.0 points a game and allowed 108.4, a margin of 3.6. On the road the Rockets scored 115.7 and allowed 112.7, a margin of 3.0. On the halves the method uses, these two teams were close to level.
The halves the method leaves out favour Houston. The Rockets went 30-11 at home, scoring 114.8 and allowing 107.3, a margin of 7.5. The Suns went 20-21 on the road, scoring 113.2 and allowing 113.8, a margin of -0.6.
Over the full 2025-26 season, Houston finished 52-30 as the fifth seed in the West, scoring 115.2 a game and allowing 110.0, a difference of 5.2. Phoenix finished 45-37 as the eighth seed, scoring 112.6 and allowing 111.1, a difference of 1.5. The Rockets won by 10 or more 27 times and lost by 10 or more 11 times; the Suns’ counts were 25 and 17. In games decided by 5 points or fewer, Houston went 14-12 and Phoenix 12-14. Houston played 8 overtime games, Phoenix 2. In the playoffs the Suns lost 4-0 to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Rockets lost 4-2 to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Rockets won all four meetings. In Phoenix they won 114-92 on 24 November 2025 and 119-105 on 7 April 2026. Both games are in our number: two of the Suns’ 41 home games and two of the Rockets’ 41 road games. In Houston the Rockets won 117-98 on 5 December 2025 and 100-97 on 5 January 2026. Those two are in neither half.
Pick: Suns +199
Bet the Suns on the moneyline at +199. The gap is 21.6 points toward Phoenix, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Suns +199 and Rockets -241 on 7 November 2026 at 02:32 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, so the market has not moved since opening.
What kills the bet
A shorter Phoenix price. At +106 or longer the Suns are a bet whatever Houston is priced at. With the Rockets at -241, Phoenix stays a bet down to -205.
For the Rockets to become the bet, Houston would need to be +142 or longer whatever the Suns’ price. With the Suns at +199, Houston would need to be +325 or longer. The Rockets are -241.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 7 November 2026 at 02:32 UTC, has Mark Williams (shoulder) out and Rasheer Fleming (ankle) and Jordan Goodwin (calf) day-to-day for Phoenix. Houston has Clint Capela (ankle) and Steven Adams (calf) out. Our number reads last season’s results, so the list does not change it. Check the lineups before you bet.
Our number still gives Phoenix a 46.3% chance of losing. The case is that +199 pays more than that risk warrants, on last season’s evidence.
The total and the spread
The total is 222.5, over -114 and under -106. The Suns’ home games went over 222.5 in 19 of 41, a 46.3% rate, and averaged 220.4 points. The Rockets’ road games went over in 22 of 41, a 53.7% rate, and averaged 228.4. Across all 82 games, Phoenix went over this line 45 times and Houston 40.
The average of the two venue rates is 50.0% for the over. With the margin out the market prices the over at 50.9% and the under at 49.1%, a lean to the under of 0.9 points. That is below the threshold of 5. Pass on the total.
The spread is Suns +6.5 at -106 and Rockets -6.5 at -114, unchanged from the opening line. The Suns beat +6.5 in 33 of their 41 home games last season. The Rockets covered -6.5 in 15 of their 41 road games. Averaged, Suns +6.5 lands 72.0% of the time against 49.1% priced, a gap of 22.8 points. That is a lean on the same side, not a second bet. One bet on this game: the Suns at +199.
