Trail Blazers vs Suns Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Take the Suns as home underdogs. Our number gives Phoenix 58.5%, and the price gives them 42.8%.

The Phoenix Suns are +124 and the Portland Trail Blazers -148 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 42.8% for Phoenix and 57.2% for Portland. Last season’s home and road records put Phoenix 15.7 points higher than the market does. We bet at 5.

How 58.5% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Neutral-site games are in neither half, and neither team played one.

The Suns went 25-16 at home, a 61.0% win rate over 41 games. The Trail Blazers went 18-23 on the road, a 56.1% road loss rate. The midpoint is 58.5% for Phoenix and 41.5% for Portland.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At +124 and -148 the two come to 104.3%. With that taken out, the Suns are 42.8% and the Trail Blazers 57.2%. Ours and the market’s differ by 15.7 points.

The 2026-27 season is not in our number. Portland is 5-1, 4-0 on the road, and won 118-110 at the Denver Nuggets on Monday 2 November. Phoenix is 1-4, 1-1 at home, and lost 116-113 at the Golden State Warriors the same night. The market has read those six games and those five; our method reads last season only. That gap between what the price knows and what our number knows is the main risk in this bet.

Phoenix at home, Portland on the road

At home the Suns scored 112.0 points a game and allowed 108.4, a margin of 3.6. On the road the Trail Blazers scored 112.7 and allowed 116.8, a margin of -4.1. Those are the two halves the method uses.

The halves it leaves out point the other way, which is why they stay out. Portland at home went 24-17, scoring 118.3 and allowing 114.8, a margin of 3.5. Phoenix on the road went 20-21, scoring 113.2 and allowing 113.8, a margin of -0.6.

The season around it

Over the full 2025-26 season the Suns finished 45-37, the 8 seed in the West, scoring 112.6 and allowing 111.1, a point difference of 1.5 a game. The Trail Blazers finished 42-40, the 7 seed, scoring 115.5 and allowing 115.8, a difference of -0.3. Phoenix was swept 4-0 by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the playoffs. Portland lost 4-1 to the San Antonio Spurs.

Close games, decided by 5 points or fewer, went 12-14 for Phoenix and 11-12 for Portland. The Suns won 25 games by 10 or more and lost 17 that way. The Trail Blazers won 23 by 10 or more and lost 18.

The Suns won two of the three meetings. Both of those came in Portland: 127-110 on Tuesday 18 November 2025 and 130-125 on Tuesday 3 February 2026. Those games are in neither half of our number. The one game in Phoenix went to Portland, 92-77 on Sunday 22 February 2026. That game is inside our number: one of the Suns’ 41 home games and one of the Trail Blazers’ 41 road games.

Pick: Suns +124

Bet the Suns on the moneyline at +124. The gap is 15.7 points toward Phoenix, against a threshold of 5.

The line read Suns +124 and Trail Blazers -148 on 3 November 2026 at 21:32 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Suns +118 and Trail Blazers -140. Since opening the market has moved toward Portland: it gives the Trail Blazers 57.2% now against 56.0% at the open.

What kills the bet

A much shorter Phoenix price. At -115 or longer the Suns are a bet whatever Portland is priced at. With the Trail Blazers at -148, the Suns stay a bet down to -220.

For Portland to become the bet, the price would have to flip. The Trail Blazers are a bet at +174 or longer whatever the Suns price, or at +289 or longer with the Suns at +124. They are -148 now.

ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 3 November 2026 at 21:32 UTC, has Mark Williams (shoulder) out and Jordan Goodwin (calf) day-to-day for Phoenix. For Portland it has Ja Morant (hamstring) and Shaedon Sharpe (knee) out. Our number is built from last season’s home and road records, so the list does not change it. Check the lineups before you bet.

Our number still gives Portland a 41.5% chance of winning. The case is that +124 pays more than that risk is worth, on last season’s evidence.

The total and the spread

The total is 228.5, over -110 and under -110. The Suns’ home games went over 228.5 in 14 of 41 and averaged 220.4 points. The Trail Blazers’ road games went over in 20 of 41 and averaged 229.5. Across all 82 games the count was 35 for Phoenix and 46 for Portland.

That is 34.1% and 48.8%, an average of 41.5% for the over. The market prices the over at 50.0%, so our count leans to the under by 8.5 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, not a bet.

The spread is Suns +3.5 at -116 and Trail Blazers -3.5 at -104, unchanged from the open. Phoenix at home won or lost by 3 or fewer in 31 of 41. Portland on the road won by 4 or more in 17 of 41. Averaged, Suns +3.5 lands 67.1% of the time against 51.3% priced, a gap of 15.8 points on the same side as the moneyline. That is a lean too. One bet on this game: the Suns at +124.
