Jazz vs Spurs Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Take the Jazz to win outright in San Antonio. Our number gives Utah 19.8%; the price gives 14.8%.
The Utah Jazz are +550 and the San Antonio Spurs -800 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 14.8% for Utah and 85.2% for San Antonio. Our number puts the Jazz 5.0 points higher. We bet at 5, so this prediction clears the line exactly and has nothing to spare.
How 19.8% is reached
The method takes San Antonio’s home win chance as the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site are in neither half. San Antonio played one; Utah played none.
The Spurs went 32-8 at Frost Bank Center, an 80.0% home win rate over 40 games. The Jazz went 8-33 on the road, an 80.5% road loss rate over 41. The two rates sit almost on top of each other. Their average is 80.2% for San Antonio and 19.8% for Utah.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds up to more than 100%. At +550 and -800 the two come to 104.3%. Taken out, the Jazz are 14.8% and the Spurs 85.2%, against our 19.8% and 80.2%.
This season so far
Our number reads 2025-26 only. The 2026-27 games are outside the method. San Antonio is 4-2, 2-2 at home, and last beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 121-111 on Saturday 31 October.
Utah is 1-5, 0-1 on the road, and lost 112-90 to the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday 31 October. Six games tell us nothing about a season, and a 1-5 start is not in the number. A roster that changed over the summer is not in it either, and that is the main risk in this bet.
San Antonio at home, Utah on the road
At home the Spurs scored 120.5 points a game and allowed 111.9, a margin of 8.6. The Jazz on the road scored 114.0 and allowed 125.6, a margin of -11.6.
The halves the method leaves out point the same way. Utah at home went 14-27, scoring 121.2 and allowing 126.4, a margin of -5.2. San Antonio on the road went 29-12, scoring 119.4 and allowing 111.2, a margin of 8.2.
The season around it
The Spurs finished 62-20, the 2 seed in the West, scoring 119.8 a game and allowing 111.5, a difference of 8.3. They won 43 games by 10 or more and lost 8 by that much. In games decided by 5 points or fewer they went 13-10, with 2 overtime games.
The Jazz finished 22-60, 15th in the West, scoring 117.6 and allowing 126.0, a difference of -8.4. They lost 41 games by 10 or more and won 9 by that much. Their close-game record was 9-11, with 5 overtime games.
In the playoffs San Antonio beat the Portland Trail Blazers 4-1, the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-2 and the Oklahoma City Thunder 4-3, then lost 4-1 to the New York Knicks. Utah missed the playoffs.
The Spurs won two of the three games between these teams. In San Antonio the Jazz won 127-114 on Saturday 27 December 2025 and the Spurs won 123-110 on Monday 19 January 2026. Both are inside our number: two of the Spurs’ 40 home games and two of the Jazz’s 41 road games. In Utah the Spurs won 126-109 on Thursday 22 January 2026, and that game is in neither half.
Pick: Jazz +550
Bet the Jazz on the moneyline at +550. The gap is 5.0 points toward Utah, against a threshold of 5.0.
The line read Jazz +550 and Spurs -800 on 2 November 2026 at 00:31 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, Jazz +550 and Spurs -800, and has not moved since.
What kills the bet
A shorter Utah price, and not much of one. With the Spurs at -800 the Jazz stay a bet down to +546; at +574 or longer they are a bet whatever San Antonio is priced at. One tick in the wrong direction ends this.
For the Spurs to become the bet, they would need to be -304 or longer whatever the Jazz price, or +114 or longer against the current Jazz price. They are -800.
ESPN’s game page, read 2 November 2026 at 00:31 UTC, lists Tobias Harris (calf) and Jayden Quaintance (knee) out for San Antonio. It lists Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee), Trey Alexander (knee) and Jusuf Nurkic (foot) out for Utah. The list does not change our number. Check the lineups before you bet.
Our number still gives Utah an 80.5% road loss rate behind it. The case is only that +550 pays more than an 80.2% Spurs chance warrants.
The total and the spread
The total is 229.5, over -115 and under -105. The Spurs’ home games went over 229.5 in 20 of 40, a 50.0% rate, and averaged 232.4 points. The Jazz’s road games went over in 30 of 41, a 73.2% rate, and averaged 239.6. Across all 82 games, the Spurs went over in 41 and the Jazz in 65.
The average of the two venue rates is 61.6% for the over. With the margin out, the over is priced at 51.1% and the under at 48.9%, so our count leans to the over by 10.5 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is Spurs -15.5 at -115 and Jazz +15.5 at -105, unchanged from the open. San Antonio beat that line in 9 of its 40 home games. Utah beat it in 24 of its 41 road games. Averaged, Spurs -15.5 lands 32.0% of the time against 51.1% priced, a gap of 19.1 points toward Jazz +15.5. That is a lean on the same side as the pick, never a second bet. One bet on this game: the Jazz at +550.
