Wizards vs Magic Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

Bet the Magic on the moneyline. Our number gives Orlando at home 73.9%; the market gives them 52.2%.

The Washington Wizards are +100 and the Orlando Magic -120 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 47.8% for Washington and 52.2% for Orlando. Last season’s home and road records put Orlando 21.7 points higher than the market does. We bet at 5.

How 73.9% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site are in neither half. Orlando played 3 of them, Washington none.

The Magic went 25-15 at Kia Center, a 62.5% home win rate. The Wizards went 6-35 on the road, an 85.4% road loss rate. The midpoint is 73.9% for Orlando and 26.1% for Washington.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At -120 and +100 the two come to 104.5%. Taken out, the Magic are 52.2% and the Wizards 47.8%. A fair pair would add to exactly 100%.

Our number reads 2025-26 only, so this season is outside it. Orlando is 2-4 in 2026-27 and 0-3 at home, and lost 108-97 to the Boston Celtics on Sunday 1 November. Washington is 3-3, 1-2 on the road, and beat the Charlotte Hornets 95-79 on Friday 30 October. Six games is too few to tell us anything. Still, the 0-3 home start runs against the home half of our number, and in our view that is the main risk in this bet.

Orlando at home, Washington on the road

At home the Magic scored 116.0 points a game and allowed 114.2, a surplus of 1.8. That is a thin surplus behind a 62.5% win rate. The Wizards on the road scored 112.1 and allowed 125.2, a deficit of 13.1.

The halves the method leaves out: Washington at home went 11-30, scoring 113.7 and allowing 124.5. Orlando on the road went 19-20, scoring 115.5 and allowing 115.4. Even the Wizards’ better half was a 26.8% win rate.

The season around it

The Magic finished 45-37, eighth in the Eastern Conference, scoring 115.7 a game and allowing 115.1, a difference of 0.6. They went 19-12 in games decided by 5 points or fewer, played 5 overtime games, and won and lost by 10 or more 19 times each. In the playoffs they lost to the Detroit Pistons 4-3.

The Wizards finished 17-65, fifteenth in the East, and missed the playoffs. They scored 112.9 a game and allowed 124.9, a difference of -12.0. They lost by 10 or more in 51 games and won by 10 or more in 8. In games decided by 5 or fewer they went 5-9, with 3 overtime games.

The teams played four times. In Orlando, the Magic won 126-109 on Tuesday 3 March 2026 and 136-131 in overtime on Thursday 12 March 2026. Those games are in our number: two of the Magic’s 40 home games and two of the Wizards’ 41 road games. In Washington, the Magic won 125-94 on Saturday 1 November 2025 and the Wizards won 120-112 on Tuesday 6 January 2026. Those are in neither half.

Pick: Magic -120

Bet the Magic on the moneyline at -120. The gap is 21.7 points toward Orlando, against a threshold of 5.

The line read Magic -120 and Wizards +100 on 1 November 2026 at 23:45 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, Magic -120 and Wizards +100, so there has been no move since opening.

What kills the bet

A much shorter Orlando price. At -222 or longer the Magic are a bet whatever Washington is priced at. With the Wizards at +100, they stay a bet down to -2000.

For the Wizards to become the bet, they would have to be +373 or longer whatever the Magic are priced at. Against the current Magic price of -120, they would need to reach +584. They are at +100.

ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 1 November 2026, has Paolo Banchero (ankle), Jalen Suggs (knee), Jonathan Isaac (knee), Noah Penda (hamstring) and Izaiyah Nelson (ankle) out for Orlando. For Washington it has Tristan Vukcevic (hip), Justin Champagnie (foot) and Jamir Watkins (knee) out, and Alex Sarr (knee) and Anthony Gill (back) day-to-day. The NBA has no key-player rule in our method, so the list does not change the number. Our view is that Banchero and Suggs being out is part of why the market sits near even. Check the lineups before you bet.

Our number still gives Washington a 26.1% chance of winning. The case is that a near coin-flip price undercharges a team that won 6 of 41 road games last season.

The total and the spread

The total is 226.5, over -110 and under -110. The Magic’s home games went over 226.5 in 21 of 40, a 52.5% rate. The Wizards’ road games went over in 28 of 41, 68.3%. Orlando’s home games averaged 230.2 points and Washington’s road games 237.3. Across all games, the Magic went over in 43 of 82 and the Wizards in 59 of 82.

Our count gives the over 60.4%. With the margin removed, the over is priced at 50.0%, so the lean is to the over by 10.4 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, not a bet.

The spread is Magic -1.5 at -110 and Wizards +1.5 at -110, unchanged since it opened. The Magic covered -1.5 at home in 22 of 40 games. The Wizards covered +1.5 on the road in 7 of 41. Our count gives Magic -1.5 a 69.0% chance against 50.0% priced, a gap of 19.0 points toward Orlando. That is a lean on the same side, not a second bet. One bet on this game: the Magic at -120.
