Thunder vs Cavaliers Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Bet the Thunder on the moneyline in Cleveland. Our number gives Oklahoma City 54.6%; the price gives them 37.8%.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are +154 and the Cleveland Cavaliers -185 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 37.8% for Oklahoma City and 62.2% for Cleveland. Last season’s home and road records put the Thunder 16.8 points higher than the market does. We bet at 5.
How 54.6% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site are in neither half. Oklahoma City played one, Cleveland none.
The Cavaliers went 27-14 at Rocket Arena, a 65.9% home win rate over 41 games. The Thunder went 30-10 on the road, a 25.0% road loss rate over 40 games. The average is 45.4% for Cleveland and 54.6% for Oklahoma City.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At +154 and -185 they add to 104.3%. Taken out, the Thunder are 37.8% and the Cavaliers 62.2%.
This season so far
Both teams are 4-2 in 2026-27. Cleveland is 3-0 at home and won its last game 136-111 at the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday 31 October. Oklahoma City is 1-2 on the road and lost its last game 119-98 at the Houston Rockets the same night.
None of that is in our number. The method reads 2025-26 only, so this season’s games and any change to either roster over the summer sit outside it.
Cleveland at home, Oklahoma City on the road
At home the Cavaliers scored 119.2 points a game and allowed 114.6, a margin of 4.6. On the road the Thunder scored 119.2 and allowed 108.3, a margin of 10.9. The scoring is identical. The difference is all at the defensive end: 114.6 allowed against 108.3.
The halves the method leaves out: Oklahoma City at home went 34-7, scoring 119.1 and allowing 107.3. Cleveland on the road went 25-16, scoring 119.9 and allowing 116.2.
The season around it
The Thunder finished 2025-26 at 64-18, first in the West, scoring 119.0 a game and allowing 107.9, a difference of 11.1. They won 43 games by 10 or more and lost 9 by that much. In games decided by 5 points or fewer they were 9-7, with 5 overtime games. In the playoffs they beat the Phoenix Suns 4-0 and the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0, then lost to the San Antonio Spurs 4-3.
The Cavaliers finished 52-30, fourth in the East, scoring 119.5 and allowing 115.4, a difference of 4.1. They won 27 by 10 or more and lost 17 by that much. They were 13-7 in games decided by 5 or fewer, with 3 overtime games. They beat the Toronto Raptors 4-3 and the Detroit Pistons 4-3, then were swept 4-0 by the New York Knicks.
The Thunder won both games between the teams. In Cleveland on Monday 19 January 2026 they won 136-104. That game is in our number: one of the Cavaliers’ 41 home games and one of the Thunder’s 40 road games. In Oklahoma City on Sunday 22 February 2026 they won 121-113, which is in neither half. Two games prove nothing on their own.
Pick: Thunder +154
Bet the Thunder on the moneyline at +154. The gap is 16.8 points toward Oklahoma City, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Thunder +154 and Cavaliers -185 on 1 November 2026 at 23:31 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, so the market has not moved.
What kills the bet
A shorter Oklahoma City price. At +102 or longer the Thunder are a bet whatever Cleveland is priced at. With the Cavaliers at -185, the Thunder stay a bet down to -177.
For Cleveland to become the bet, the Cavaliers would have to be +148 or longer whatever Oklahoma City is priced at, or +274 or longer with the Thunder at +154. At -185 they are far from either.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 1 November 2026 at 23:31 UTC, has Cason Wallace (shoulder), Chet Holmgren (knee), Jalen Williams (leg), Alex Caruso (ankle) and Thomas Sorber (knee) out for Oklahoma City. For Cleveland it has Jaylon Tyson (ankle) out and Peyton Watson (hamstring) day-to-day. The method has no absence rule here, so the list does not change the number.
In our view that list is the main risk. Our 54.6% describes the Thunder of 2025-26, and Holmgren and Williams will not be on the floor in Cleveland. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the spread
The total is 227.5, over -110 and under -110. The Cavaliers’ home games went over 227.5 in 24 of 41, a 58.5% rate, and averaged 233.8 points. The Thunder’s road games went over in 22 of 40, a 55.0% rate, and averaged 227.5. Across all 82 games, Cleveland went over this line 54 times and Oklahoma City 40.
The average of the two venue rates is 56.8% for the over, against 50.0% priced. That is a lean to the over of 6.8 points. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so this is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is Cavaliers -4.5 at -115 and Thunder +4.5 at -105, unchanged since it opened. Cleveland beat a 4.5-point line in 26 of 41 home games. Oklahoma City would have covered +4.5 in 33 of 40 road games. Averaged, Cavaliers -4.5 lands 40.5% of the time against 51.1% priced, a gap of 10.6 points toward Thunder +4.5. That is a lean on the same side. One bet on this game: the Thunder at +154.
