Kansas State Wildcats

The Wildcats covered the spread in five of 18 home games in 2025-26, a rate only 27 Division I teams fell below. January and February together went 2-14.

The home number

Kansas State went 10-8 at home and 1-10 on the road, so the first instinct is to back them at home. The spread says otherwise. At home they covered 5 of 18, 27.8%; one team matched that and 27 did worse.

The early-season home wins show how. Laying 12.5 to Tulsa, they won 84-83. Laying 6.5 to California, 99-96. As favorites all season they went 8-3 and covered three times in 11.

On the road, by contrast, they covered 5 of 11 while winning once. The covers came as underdogs who kept it close: 84-83 at Oklahoma State, 59-54 at West Virginia, 84-82 at TCU, 78-64 at Houston with 22.5 points in hand, and the one road win, 83-76 at Creighton at +170.

Two months that sank it

Over the full season the Wildcats covered 12 of 32, 37.5%; 22 teams were lower. The moneyline lost 13.34 units across 29 priced games, and only 18 teams lost more.

Most of that came in January and February: 1-7 and 6.82 units down, then 1-7 and 5.5 down. The worst single price came earlier, an 82-66 home loss to Bowling Green on 1 December with Kansas State at -950.

Big 12 opponents

Kansas won both meetings by 24 and 19 and covered both. BYU beat them 83-73 in January and 105-91 at the conference tournament in March, both by more than the number. West Virginia split, and Kansas State covered both, the home win 65-63 at +160.
