St Johns Red Storm

Between 6 and 23 December 2025 the Red Storm won four of five games and covered none of them. From 31 December they covered 15 of 22 and lost twice.

December

St. John’s beat Ole Miss 63-58 at -13.5, DePaul 79-66 at -19.5, Iona 91-64 at -28.5 and Harvard 85-59 at -26.5, and missed the number each time. The one loss of that run, 78-66 to Kentucky, missed too, and a unit on each of its four priced games lost 0.85.

31 December to March

From 31 December St. John’s went 20-2 before the NCAA tournament and covered 15 of 22, 68.2%. A 13-game win streak ran from 6 January to 21 February. The two losses were both to Big East rivals: 77-71 at home to Providence at -1350, and 72-40 at UConn on 25 February.

Over the full 34 games they went 28-6, a win rate only 13 Division I teams beat, and covered 19 of 33.

The price on a favorite

Favored 29 times, they won 26 and covered 17. At those short prices, backing them every time they were favored, 27 priced games, earned just 2.23 units. The whole priced season, 31 games, returned 2.67. On the road the picture was better: 9-1 and 7 covers in 10.

UConn

Three meetings, two St. John’s wins, both at home as underdogs: 81-72 at +120 and 72-52 at +124 in the Big East final. The third was the 32-point loss in between. Seton Hall lost all three meetings, two of them in March, and St. John’s covered twice; Providence took one of three.

The total

Twenty-one unders and 13 overs, 61.8%; 39 Division I teams went under more often. In the NCAA tournament the Red Storm beat Northern Iowa and Kansas before an 80-75 loss to Duke in the Sweet 16.
