The one miss in that first stretch came at the worst price of the year. Memphis went to UAB as a 23.5-point favorite, -2500 on the moneyline, and lost 31-24. Then November: 38-32 to Tulane at home with Memphis laying 3.5, 31-27 at East Carolina as 2.5-point underdogs, and 28-17 to Navy at -4. Three losses, three misses.

Where the moneyline paid

Every game but Navy carried a moneyline. One unit on the Tigers in each finished 1.62 units up. Home games made it, 2.66 units up over five, with the 32-31 win over Arkansas at +230 the biggest single return. As a favorite they finished 0.98 units down over eight priced games: six wins at short prices could not cover the UAB and Tulane losses.
