Senators vs Golden Knights Best Pick, Prediction and Odds

No bet on Senators at Golden Knights. With Linus Ullmark out, our number re-run on Ottawa’s road games without him lands 0.5 points from the price, and the threshold is 5.

The Vegas Golden Knights are -155 and the Ottawa Senators +130 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 58.3% for Vegas and 41.7% for Ottawa. Our number has the Golden Knights at 58.8%. On a game priced this close to our figure, the price is right and there is nothing to bet.

How 58.8% is reached

Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Overtime and shootout wins count as wins, so overtime and shootout losses count as losses. Games at a neutral site are left out. A side is a bet when our number and the market’s differ by at least 5 points.

Ullmark is on injured reserve with a lower-body injury (ESPN injury list, entry dated 22 October 2026, 21:03 UTC; read 27 October 2026, 01:04 UTC; 7 November given as his return date). When a team’s starting goalie is out, our method is run again on the games without him. Ullmark appeared in 49 of Ottawa’s 82 games in 2025-26, ahead of Leevi Merilainen’s 20 and James Reimer’s 14, and in 25 of the 41 road games the method reads. In the 16 road games he did not play, the Senators went 5-9-2, a 68.75% road loss rate. The minimum for a re-run is 10 games, so 16 is enough.

The Golden Knights went 20-12-9 at T-Mobile Arena, a 48.8% home win rate. Average 48.8% with 68.75% and Vegas is 58.8%, Ottawa 41.2%. That is 0.5 points better for Vegas than the price, a tenth of the threshold.

The full road season gives a different answer. Ottawa went 21-15-5 away from home, a 48.8% road loss rate; on that number Vegas is 48.8%, and the gap is 9.5 points toward the Senators, a bet. Ullmark’s absence is what closes it. Without him in goal, Ottawa lost on the road at a rate close to 20 points higher, and the edge the full season shows belongs to a team with its starter.

The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At -155 and +130 they come to 104.3%. Taken out, the Golden Knights are 58.3% and the Senators 41.7%.

Every input is from 2025-26. This season is not in the figures. The Senators are 8-4-0, 3-2-0 on the road, and beat the New York Rangers 7-4 on Saturday 24 October. Ullmark has played eight of their games, Samuel Ersson five and Jonas Johansson one. The Golden Knights are 8-4-1, 5-2-0 at home, and lost 2-1 in overtime at Columbus on Saturday 24 October. Carter Hart has played eight of their games and Adin Hill five.

Vegas at home, Ottawa on the road

Over the full season the Golden Knights at home scored 3.56 a game and allowed 3.10, a surplus of 0.46. The Senators on the road scored 3.39 and allowed 3.37, a surplus of 0.02. Those two halves are the ones in our number, with Ottawa’s road half cut to the 16 games without Ullmark.

The halves the method leaves out: Vegas on the road went 19-14-8, a 46.3% win rate, scoring 2.90 and allowing 3.00. Ottawa at home went 23-12-6, 56.1%, scoring 3.39 and allowing 2.63. The Senators’ best half was at home, and it is not in our number.

Over the full season Ottawa finished ahead, 99 points to 95. The Senators went 44-27-11 with a goal difference of +32, then lost 4-0 to Carolina in the first round of the playoffs. The Golden Knights went 39-26-17 at +15, then won series against Utah 4-2, Anaheim 4-2 and Colorado 4-0 before losing 4-2 to Carolina.

Vegas played a lot of close games. The Golden Knights went 16-10-17 in one-goal games and won 9 of the 26 that went past regulation. Ottawa went 16-10-11 in one-goal games and won 6 of its 17 past 60 minutes. The Senators won by two goals or more 28 times in 82 games; Vegas did it 23 times.

Ottawa won both meetings in 2025-26: 4-3 in a shootout at T-Mobile Arena on 26 November 2025, and 7-1 in Ottawa on 25 January 2026. The game in Vegas is in the Golden Knights’ home half and in Ottawa’s full-season road half; whether it is in the re-run depends on who was in goal. The 7-1 game in Ottawa is in neither half.

Pick: No bet

No bet on the moneyline. The gap is 0.5 points toward Vegas on Ottawa’s road games without Ullmark, against a threshold of 5. On the full road season the gap would be 9.5 toward Ottawa, and that number describes a team with Ullmark in goal.

The line read Golden Knights -155 and Senators +130 on 27 October 2026 at 01:04 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at -162 and +136. Since the open the market gives the Senators 1.0 points more than it did, 41.7% against 40.7%.

What kills the bet

There is no bet to kill. The price has to move for one to appear. The Golden Knights become a bet at -116 or longer whatever Ottawa is priced at, and against the Senators at +130 they become a bet at -102 or longer. They are -155.

For the Senators to become the bet against Vegas at -155, they would have to be +190 or longer. They are +130, and the move since the open has gone the other way.

ESPN’s injury list has Ullmark and William Eklund (ankle) on injured reserve for Ottawa, and Thomas Chabot out with an upper-body injury. Vegas lists Parker Wotherspoon on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. No goalie besides Ullmark is on either list. Check the lineups before you bet.

The total and the puck line

The total is 6.5, over -105 and under -115. The Golden Knights’ games went over 6.5 in 38 of 82, the Senators’ in 40 of 82. Vegas’s home games averaged 6.66 goals and Ottawa’s road games 6.76; both averages sit above the line, but the method counts games that went over, and each team went over in fewer than half.

That is 46.3% and 48.8%, an average of 47.6% for the over. With the margin removed the over is priced at 48.9% and the under at 51.1%, so our number leans to the under by 1.4 points. Pass on the total.

On the puck line, Vegas is -1.5 at +160 and Ottawa +1.5 at -192, which is 36.9% and 63.1% without the margin. Over the full season the Golden Knights won by two goals or more in 23 of 82 games, and the Senators lost by two or more in 17 of 82. Averaged, Vegas -1.5 lands 24.4% of the time against 36.9% priced, a gap of 12.5 points toward Senators +1.5. Those counts cover all 82 games, Ullmark’s included, and our method stakes the moneyline only. It is a lean, never a bet. No bet on this game.
