Mavericks vs Heat Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
No bet. Our number puts the Mavericks 4.2 points above the market, and we bet at 5.
The Dallas Mavericks are +260 and the Miami Heat -325 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 26.6% for Dallas and 73.4% for Miami. Our number gives Dallas 30.8%. The 4.2-point gap leans to the Mavericks, but it is short of the threshold, so the price stands.
How 69.2% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Games at a neutral site are in neither half. Dallas played one, which is left out. Miami played none.
The Heat went 26-15 at Kaseya Center, a 63.4% home win rate over 41 games. The Mavericks went 10-30 on the road, a 75.0% road loss rate over 40. The average is 69.2% for Miami and 30.8% for Dallas.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair adds to more than 100%. At -325 and +260 the pair comes to 104.2%. With it removed, the Heat are 73.4% and the Mavericks 26.6%.
The method reads last season only. This season the Heat are 0-3, 0-2 at home, and lost 115-110 at the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday 24 October. The Mavericks are 1-2, 1-1 on the road, and lost 122-106 to the San Antonio Spurs the same day. Three games is not a sample. None of them is in our number.
Miami at home, Dallas on the road
At home the Heat scored 123.5 points a game and allowed 118.3, a margin of 5.2. On the road the Mavericks scored 112.0 and allowed 119.3, a margin of -7.3. Those are the two halves the method uses, and the second is the weaker of the two by a distance.
The halves the method leaves out: Miami on the road went 17-24, scoring 118.3 and allowing 118.8, a margin of -0.5. Dallas at home went 16-25, scoring 116.3 and allowing 119.9, a margin of -3.6.
The season around it
The Heat finished 43-39, the 10th seed in the East, and missed the playoffs. They scored 120.9 a game and allowed 118.5, a difference of 2.4. They won 29 games by 10 or more and lost 23 that way. In games decided by 5 points or fewer they went 8-8, with one overtime game.
The Mavericks finished 26-56, 12th in the West, and missed the playoffs. They scored 114.1 and allowed 119.6, a difference of -5.5. They won 9 games by 10 or more and lost 30 by that much. Close games went 8-10, and six went to overtime.
The teams split two meetings. On Monday 24 November 2025 in Miami, the Heat won 106-102. That game is in our number: one of Miami’s 41 home games and one of Dallas’s 40 road games. On Wednesday 3 December 2025 in Dallas, the Mavericks won 118-108. That one is in neither half.
Pick: No bet
No bet on either side of the moneyline. The gap is 4.2 points toward Dallas, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Mavericks +260 and Heat -325 on 26 October 2026 at 13:05 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at Mavericks +235 and Heat -290. At the open the market gave Miami 71.4%. It now gives 73.4%, so it has moved 2.0 points toward the Heat since opening. That move runs in the direction that brings Dallas closer to a bet, and it still does not get there.
The price is about right on our evidence. A 10-30 road team against a 26-15 home team should be a large underdog, and +260 makes it one.
What kills the bet
A longer Dallas price turns this into a bet. At +287 or longer the Mavericks are a bet whatever Miami is priced at. With the Heat at -325, Dallas becomes a bet at +276. That is 16 cents of movement from where it stands.
For Miami to become the bet, the Heat would have to drift to -179 or longer regardless of the Dallas price. Against the current Dallas price of +260, Miami needs to reach +101. Neither is close.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 26 October 2026 at 13:03 UTC, has five Dallas forwards out: Caleb Martin (thumb), Cooper Flagg (shoulder), Naji Marshall (illness), Tarik Biberovic (heel) and Santi Aldama (knee). Miami lists no one. Our number reads 2025-26 results only, so the list does not change it. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the spread
The total is 239.5, over -112 and under -108. Miami’s home games went over 239.5 in 21 of 41, a 51.2% rate, and averaged 241.8 points. Dallas’s road games went over in 12 of 40, a 30.0% rate, and averaged 231.3. Over the full season the Heat’s games went over in 41 of 82 and the Mavericks’ in 28 of 82.
The average of the two road-and-home rates is 40.6% for the over. With the margin out, the market prices the over at 50.4% and the under at 49.6%. Our count leans to the under by 9.8 points. The method stakes the moneyline only, so that is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is Heat -8.5 at -105 and Mavericks +8.5 at -115. It opened at Heat -7.5. Miami at home beat this line in 17 of 41 games. Dallas on the road beat it in 22 of 40. Our count has Heat -8.5 landing 43.2% of the time against 48.9% priced, a gap of 5.7 points toward Mavericks +8.5. That clears 5, but the spread is not the market our method stakes, so it stays a lean. The moneyline is the bet the method prices, and on this game it says pass.
