Underdog value, favorite cost

The market made the Red Wings favorites 40 times and underdogs 42, and they went 20-20 and 21-21. Backing them as underdogs made 3.60 units; as favorites it lost 5.32, and they covered the puck line in only 11 of those 40. As underdogs they covered 30 of 42. Nine of their 20 wins as favorites came by a single goal.
