Lakers vs Kings Best Pick, Prediction and Odds
Take the Kings on the moneyline. Last season’s records give Sacramento at home 37.8%; the price gives them 17.5%.
The Los Angeles Lakers are -610 and the Sacramento Kings +450 at DraftKings. With the margin out, that is 82.5% for Los Angeles and 17.5% for Sacramento. Our number puts the Kings 20.3 points higher than the market. We bet at 5.
How 37.8% is reached
Our home win chance is the average of two 2025-26 regular-season rates: the home team’s win rate in its own arena and the visitor’s loss rate on the road. Neither team played a game at a neutral site, so nothing was left out of either half.
The Kings went 15-26 at Golden 1 Center, a 36.6% home win rate over 41 games. The Lakers went 25-16 on the road, a 39.0% road loss rate over 41. The midpoint is 37.8% for Sacramento and 62.2% for Los Angeles.
The margin is the extra a book builds into both prices so the pair comes to more than 100%. At +450 and -610 they come to 104.1%. Taken out, the Kings are 17.5% and the Lakers 82.5%. The market prices this game as far more lopsided than either team’s split from last season.
This season is outside the method. The Kings are 1-6, including 0-2 at home, and won 115-100 at the Dallas Mavericks on Monday 2 November. The Lakers are 6-2, 2-1 on the road, and beat the Miami Heat 138-117 on the same Monday. Our number reads 2025-26 only. It does not see seven games of a bad start, or any roster change since last season. That is the main risk in this bet.
Sacramento at home, Los Angeles on the road
At home the Kings scored 112.6 points a game and allowed 119.8, a deficit of 7.2. The Lakers on the road scored 114.7 and allowed 115.2, a deficit of 0.5. Both halves the method uses were losing splits.
The halves the method leaves out are where the gap between these teams lives. Sacramento on the road went 7-34, scoring 109.4 and allowing 122.2, a margin of -12.8. Los Angeles at home went 28-13, scoring 118.0 and allowing 114.0, a margin of +4.0.
Over the full season the Kings finished 22-60, 14th in the West, scoring 111.0 a game and allowing 121.0, a difference of -10.0. They won 6 games by 10 or more and lost 40 by 10 or more, and missed the playoffs. The Lakers finished 53-29, fourth in the West, at +1.7 a game, with 28 wins and 21 losses by 10 or more. In the playoffs they beat the Houston Rockets 4-2 and lost 4-0 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Close games, decided by 5 points or fewer, went 10-11 for Sacramento and 11-4 for Los Angeles. The Kings played 3 overtime games, the Lakers 1.
The Lakers won three of the four meetings. In Sacramento, the Lakers won 127-120 on 26 October 2025 and the Kings won 124-112 on 12 January 2026; those games are in our number, two of the Kings’ 41 home games and two of the Lakers’ 41 road games. In Los Angeles, the Lakers won 125-101 on 28 December 2025 and 128-104 on 1 March 2026; those are in neither half.
Pick: Kings +450
Bet the Kings on the moneyline at +450. The gap is 20.3 points toward Sacramento, against a threshold of 5.
The line read Kings +450 and Lakers -610 on 3 November 2026 at 21:45 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN. It opened at the same prices, so the market has not moved since.
What kills the bet
A shorter Sacramento price. At +205 or longer the Kings are a bet whatever Los Angeles is priced at. With the Lakers at -610, they stay a bet down to +138.
For the Lakers to become the bet, they would have to be -133 or longer whatever the Kings are priced at. Against the Kings at +450, the Lakers would need to be +311 or longer. They are -610.
ESPN’s injury list for the game, read 3 November 2026 at 21:45 UTC, has four Kings out: Dylan Cardwell (calf), Maxime Raynaud (knee), Keegan Murray (ankle) and Ben Simmons (Achilles). The Lakers have Adou Thiero (knee) out. Our number reads last season’s results, so the list does not change it. Check the lineups before you bet.
Our number still gives Sacramento a 62.2% chance of losing. The case is that +450 pays well beyond that risk on last season’s evidence.
The total and the spread
The total is 238.5, over -105 and under -115. The Kings’ home games went over 238.5 in 14 of 41, a 34.1% rate. The Lakers’ road games went over in 11 of 41, 26.8%. Kings home games averaged 232.4 points and Lakers road games 229.9.
Averaged, the over lands 30.5% against 48.9% priced, with the under at 51.1%. Our count leans to the under by 18.4 points. Across all 82 games, the Kings went over this number 25 times and the Lakers 26. Our method stakes the moneyline only, so the under is a lean, not a bet.
The spread is Lakers -11.5 at -109 and Kings +11.5 at -111, unchanged since it opened. Sacramento beat this line in 27 of 41 home games. Los Angeles beat it in 6 of 41 road games. Averaged, Kings +11.5 lands 75.6% of the time against 50.2% priced, a gap of 25.4 points on the same side as the pick. That is a lean too. One bet on this game: the Kings at +450.
