Josh Allen is the NFL MVP favorite at +240, and David Bailey leads the Defensive Rookie of the Year race at +200. Both prices are DraftKings’, as ESPN carries them, read at 10:58 UTC on Saturday, October 17, 2026 (6:58 am ET), after Thursday’s game, Denver 17, Seattle 14, and before the rest of Week 6.
ESPN carries a DraftKings board for seven of the Associated Press awards handed out at NFL Honors. This page holds the top three of each, what last season’s vote said about the award, and a link to the page with the full board. It makes no pick. The team boards, from the Super Bowl to the division winners and the yards leaders, are on our NFL futures odds page.
NFL awards odds: the favorite in every race
| Award | Favorite | Price | Implied | Margin removed | Names priced |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MVP | Josh Allen, Bills | +240 | 29.4% | 20.2% | 68 |
| Offensive Player | Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions | +250 | 28.6% | 17.0% | 91 |
| Defensive Player | Will Anderson Jr., Texans | +125 | 44.4% | 25.7% | 93 |
| Offensive Rookie | Fernando Mendoza, Raiders (shortest listed) | +1500 | 6.2% | not shown | 46 |
| Defensive Rookie | David Bailey, Jets | +200 | 33.3% | 25.5% | 44 |
| Coach of the Year | Kevin O’Connell, Vikings | +600 | 14.3% | not shown | 12 |
| Comeback Player | Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs | -300 | 75.0% | 51.3% | 31 |
Implied is the chance a price needs to break even: +240 needs 29.4%. On a full board the implied chances add up to more than 100%, and the excess is the bookmaker’s margin. The MVP board adds up to 145.4%, so Allen’s 29.4% is 20.2% once the margin is taken out (29.4 / 145.4). Two boards add up to less than 100%, which means ESPN carries only part of them, and there the margin cannot be taken out. The futures betting guide explains how a season-long price works.
MVP: Allen at +240
- Josh Allen, Bills: +240 (29.4%)
- Brock Purdy, 49ers: +300 (25.0%)
- Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs: +600 (14.3%)
Last season’s vote was the closest since 2003, NFL.com reported: Matthew Stafford won with 366 points to Drake Maye’s 361, 24 first-place votes to 23. Allen took two of the others. The holder is a long way back now: Stafford is +2800, ninth on the board, and Maye is +1700. Allen has come in from +250 since our read on October 13 and Mahomes from +650, while Purdy has not moved; their teams stand 4-1, 5-0 and 4-0. Nine of the 68 prices have changed in that time. Every name is on our NFL MVP odds page.
Offensive Player of the Year: Gibbs at +250
- Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions: +250 (28.6%)
- Kenneth Walker III, Chiefs: +400 (20.0%)
- Bijan Robinson, Falcons: +400 (20.0%)
The top three are running backs, and the yardage is close between them: Robinson has 580 rushing yards, Walker 537 and Gibbs 504, by ESPN’s leaders before Sunday. Jaxon Smith-Njigba won it last season, 272 points to Christian McCaffrey’s 223, the seventh season in a row it went to a player who is not a quarterback; the last quarterback was Mahomes in 2018. Smith-Njigba is fourth here at +1000. Gibbs has shortened from +280 since October 13, and 28 of the 91 prices have moved, the busiest of the seven boards. Our Offensive Player of the Year odds page has the board.
Defensive Player of the Year: Anderson at +125
- Will Anderson Jr., Texans: +125 (44.4%)
- T.J. Watt, Steelers: +850 (10.5%)
- Dallas Turner, Vikings: +850 (10.5%)
Anderson finished second in last season’s vote, a distant second: Myles Garrett took all 50 first-place votes and 500 points to Anderson’s 177, in the year he set the single-season record of 23 sacks. Garrett is now listed with the Rams at +10000, one of 20 players at that price. Anderson’s 44.4% is the shortest favorite on any of these boards except Comeback Player. One of the 93 prices has moved since October 13, and none of the top three. Our Defensive Player of the Year odds page lists them.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: a partial board
- Fernando Mendoza, Raiders: +1500 (6.2%)
- KC Concepcion, Browns: +2000 (4.8%)
- Antonio Williams, Commanders: +2800 (3.4%)
ESPN lists 46 offensive rookies, and their implied chances add up to 58.8%. A complete market cannot add up to less than 100%, so prices are missing, and Mendoza is the shortest price ESPN shows rather than a known favorite. Our Rookie of the Year odds page sets out which first-round picks are absent. Mendoza has come in from +2000 since October 13, when he shared the shortest price with Concepcion and Jalon Daniels. Last season Tetairoa McMillan won with 41 of 50 first-place votes after 1,014 receiving yards for Carolina.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Bailey at +200
- David Bailey, Jets: +200 (33.3%)
- Jacob Rodriguez, Dolphins: +350 (22.2%)
- Sonny Styles, Commanders: +1000 (9.1%)
This is the calm board. None of the 43 prices we read on October 13 has changed, and ESPN has added one name, Brandon Cisse, for 44. Bailey and Rodriguez hold 42.5% of it between them once the margin is out (25.5 and 17.0). Carson Schwesinger won it last season for Cleveland on the night Garrett won Defensive Player, the first teammates to take both awards since Terrell Suggs and Ray Lewis for Baltimore in 2003, NFL.com noted. The defensive table is on the same Rookie of the Year odds page.
Coach of the Year: O’Connell at +600
- Kevin O’Connell, Vikings: +600 (14.3%)
- Klint Kubiak, Raiders: +1000 (9.1%)
- Dave Canales, Panthers: +3000 (3.2%)
- Aaron Glenn, Jets: +3000 (3.2%)
Only 12 coaches are priced, adding up to 44.1%, so this too is a partial list. Minnesota is 5-0 and Las Vegas 3-2. O’Connell has shortened from +650 since October 13 and Kubiak has drifted from +900. Mike Vrabel won last season with New England, 302 points to Liam Coen’s 239, his second after 2021 with Tennessee; he is +7000 now, tied with DeMeco Ryans for ninth of the 12. Our Coach of the Year odds page has the list.
Comeback Player of the Year: Mahomes at -300
- Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs: -300 (75.0%)
- Michael Penix Jr., Falcons: +1200 (7.7%)
- Kyler Murray, Vikings: +1200 (7.7%)
Mahomes is the only odds-on price across the seven boards, and with the margin out he holds 51.3% of this one. No price on it has moved since October 13. McCaffrey won it last season with 31 of 50 first-place votes, after missing 13 games in 2024 and starting all 17 in 2025. Our Comeback Player of the Year odds page has all 31 names.
When the awards are decided
The AP awards for last season were announced at NFL Honors on February 5, 2026, three days before the Super Bowl, according to the NFL’s list of winners. This season’s Super Bowl, LXI, is on February 14, 2027. Prices move every week until then, and this page is rebuilt when the boards do. This week’s games and our calls are on the NFL Week 6 odds page and the NFL predictions hub.
