Eight losses in a row

Washington went 5-12 in the 2025 regular season and 7-10 against the spread. The streak began with a 25-24 home loss to the Chicago Bears on 13 October, as 5.5-point favorites at -240, and ended with a 31-0 loss at the Minnesota Vikings on 7 December. Eight games, eight losses. November alone was 0-4, with one cover.

Underdogs who rarely covered

Washington was the underdog in 14 games, won three and covered five. Three NFL teams finished below that rate when getting points; one finished level with it. As favorites, three times, the Commanders won twice and covered twice.

All three underdog wins came on the road: 27-10 at the Los Angeles Chargers at +150, 29-21 at the Giants at +130, and 24-17 at the Eagles at +150 in the last game. At home the Commanders went 2-6 and covered four of eight. The neutral-site game, in Madrid, was a 16-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins as 2.5-point underdogs.

The NFC East

Six division games brought three wins and four covers. Both meetings with the New York Giants were wins and covers. The Dallas Cowboys won both meetings, but the 30-23 loss on Christmas Day covered as 8.5-point underdogs. The Philadelphia Eagles split, one cover.

The total

Ten overs and six unders in 2025; six NFL teams had a higher over rate. Washington allowed 26.53 points a game; five teams allowed more.
