It is absolutely one of the best times of the year. The holiday season is coming with Thanksgiving next week. The 2025 college football season is hitting its peak. MAC-tion arrives in November and brings us mid-week football.
Rivalry games are right around the corner and conference races are really heating up after Week 12. Only a few weeks remain to guarantee a spot in a conference championship game. A spot in one of the Power 4 conference title games can help teams secure a spot in the College Football Playoffs.
Some of the major conferences take some time for a non-conference game in Week 13. In the SEC, for example, there are only four conference games. Clemson takes on Furman and Wake Forest plays the newest FBS program, Delaware.
As we look ahead to Week 13 of the college football schedule, make sure you are checking ScoresandStats on a daily basis from now until the college football national championship game. Our NCAAF experts will continue to provide inside analysis, free picks, game predictions, and more!

College Football Week 13 Predictions
Let’s take a look at the featured College Football Week 13 games and make our NCAAF picks for each game.
Florida State Seminoles @ N.C. State Wolfpack Odds

Florida State Seminoles | NA | NA | NA |
N.C. State Wolfpack | NA | NA | NA |
It was an absolute disaster in Tallahassee last season. One season after going 13-1, Mike Norvell’s Seminoles went 2-10. That won’t happen in 2025. Norvell had the No. 2-rated recruiting class in the ACC and pulled in three of the top ten transfers in the conference.
Only one starter returns on offense and that may be a good thing. Last season, FSU ranked 133rd in the nation in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per game. For reference, there were 134 FBS teams last year.
The defense will look different under new coordinator Tony White who runs the 3-3-5. Six starters and a number of talented newcomers should help the Seminoles be respectable on defense.
N.C. State went 6-7 last season and head coach Dave Doeren welcomes back six starters on offense. C.J. Bailey is back at quarterback after starting eight games as a freshman. The Wolfpack defense needs some work. They gave up 30.9 points per game in 2024.
Florida State Seminoles @ N.C. State Wolfpack Predictions
These two teams haven’t played since 2022. The Wolfpack have actually won the last three games in the series and five of the last six. N.C. State has beaten the Seminoles each of the last three times the teams have played in Raleigh.
Playing on a Friday night in Raleigh can be tough, especially this late in the season. Actually playing N.C. State in Raleigh has been difficult for anyone during the tenure of Doeren. In their last 54 home games dating back to 2017, the Wolfpack are 42-12 at Carter-Finley Stadium. They have won 15 of the last 20 games at home against ACC opponents.
Until Florida State proves that it is back, the Wolfpack have to be the pick here.
Bet: N.C. State Wolfpack (NA)
Tennessee Volunteers @ Florida Gators Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |

Tennessee Volunteers | NA | NA | NA |
Florida Gators | NA | NA | NA |
By this time of the season, we should see exactly how the Nico Iamaleava-for-Joey Aguilar deal worked out. Aguilar, of course, came from UCLA in the transfer portal after Iamaleava left for the Bruins. Aguilar transferred to UCLA from Appalachian State but left once Iamaleava made the Bruins his destination.
Aguilar should be right at home in Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel’s offense. He threw for 6,760 yards and 56 touchdowns in two seasons at Appalachian State. The Volunteers have been one of the more prolific offenses in college football over the past two seasons, averaging well over 30 points per game and finishing among the top 30 scoring offenses in the FBS.
Billy Napier and the Gators experienced somewhat of a turnaround last season as Florida finished 8-5. The Gators won their final four games (including the bowl game) of the season. Florida lost to Tennessee on the road in overtime last year.
The Vols have won two of the last three meetings, but both of those wins occurred at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. Florida hasn’t lost to Tennessee in Gainesville since 2003. Since 2005, the Gators have won 17 of 20 against the Vols.
Tennessee Volunteers @ Florida Gators Predictions
As good as Tennessee’s offense was last season, it was really the defense that helped the Vols go 10-3 and make the College Football Playoffs. The Vols finished eighth in scoring defense, allowing opponents 17.2 points per game last season. Seven starters are back on that defense which produced over 100 tackles for loss for the second straight year.
The Gators, typically strong on defense, got pushed around last year allowing nearly 400 total yards per game. The defense improved over the latter part of the season and the Gators gave up just 12 points a game over their last three.
Napier and the Gators are in the midst of turning the program back around. D.J. Lagway returns at quarterback along with seven offensive starters. The defense should be very good with NFL prospect Caleb Banks at DT and L.J. McCray, the top OLB prospect in 2024, in the front seven. A win over rival Tennessee will go a long way to declaring the Gators officially back among the SEC elite.
Bet: Florida Gators (NA)
Arkansas Razorbacks @ Texas Longhorns Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Arkansas Razorbacks | NA | NA | NA |
Texas Longhorns | NA | NA | NA |
These two long-time Southwest Conference rivals have rekindled their rivalry in the SEC. Last season, the two teams met in Fayetteville and the Longhorns, ranked No. 3 in the nation at the time, won 20-10.
This time around, the Longhorns are once again expected to challenge for the SEC title as well as the national championship. Arch Manning is set to take over at quarterback to begin the season. He’ll be surrounded by talent, including WR Deandre Moore Jr. and RB Quintrevion Wisner.
The Texas defense should once again be one of the best in the nation. The Longhorns were third nationally last year in both scoring defense (15.3 ppg) and total defense (283.7 ypg). Still, they only managed to go 8-8 ATS. Texas only covered twice in its last seven games.
The Razorbacks went 7-6 last year, 3-5 in the SEC. They lost their last three conference games last season (Ole Miss, Texas, Missouri). Arkansas went 8-5 ATS last season, 5-3 ATS versus SEC opponents.
Arkansas Razorbacks @ Texas Longhorns Predictions
The Razorbacks were actually No. 10 in the nation in total offense last season (459.4 ypg). They lost a ton of talent, but they brought in a number of transfers that will fit right into Bobby Petrino’s offense. Taylen Green is back for Year 2 at quarterback.
The Longhorns will once again be very good on defense with Anthony Hill Jr. at linebacker and three returning starters in the secondary. The difference this season will be how quickly Manning develops as the Horns starting quarterback.
It’s hard to beat Texas in Austin. Since the start of the 2021 season, the Longhorns are 22-5 at home. Since Arkansas left the SWC in 1991, the Razorbacks have won in Austin just once. That was back in 2003.
Bet: Texas Longhorns (NA)
Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Penn State Nittany Lions Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Nebraska Cornhuskers | NA | NA | NA |
Penn State Nittany Lions | NA | NA | NA |
Nebraska got off to a 5-1 start last season, Year 2 of the Matt Rhule era. Then, the wheels came off the bus as the Cornhuskers lost four straight, all Big Ten games. Nebraska finished with a bowl win to go 7-6.
Penn State, of course, made the College Football Playoffs, losing only to Ohio State and Oregon in the regular season. The Nittany Lions won their first two playoff games – 38-10 over SMU and 31-14 over Boise State – before finishing the season 13-3.
The defense was outstanding, finishing in the top ten in both scoring defense (16.5 ppg, 8th) and total defense (294.7 ypg, 7th). The Nittany Lions finished 8-8 ATS last season.
The Cornhuskers were similarly built. Their defense was a top 20 unit, giving up 19.5 points per game (17th) and 317.9 yards a game (18th). Nebraska had more success against the spread, going 7-4-2 ATS last year.
Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Penn State Nittany Lions Predictions
These two schools have played each other a total of 18 times. Nebraska has won 10 times and they won the most recent game in 2020. The Huskers won 30-23 in Lincoln. The last time the team played in Happy Valley was in 2017. Penn State had a running back named Saquon Barkley who had 204 total yards and three touchdowns in a 56-44 Nittany Lions victory.
Penn State, along with Oregon and Ohio State, are picked to be the top contenders for the Big Ten championship. The Nittany Lions are also among the top contenders for the CFP national championship in 2025.
QB Drew Allar is back as are standout running backs Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton. The defense was a top 10 unit last season and should be again in 2025. At home, the Nittany Lions will be too much for Nebraska, which is still in the building phase under Rhule.
Bet: Penn State Nittany Lions (NA)
USC Trojans @ Oregon Ducks Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
USC Trojans | NA | NA | NA |
Oregon Ducks | NA | NA | NA |
The USC-Oregon rivalry dates all the way back to 1915. USC holds the advantage in the series, but more recently, the Ducks have won 13 of the 20 meetings since 1994. Oregon beat the Trojans in each of the last three meetings, including the Pac-12 championship game in 2020.
Now, the two teams continue their rivalry as members of the Big Ten. Oregon, of course, went 13-0 in the regular season last year and earned the No. 1 seed in the CFP. USC ended up 7-6 and just 4-5 in Big Ten play.
The Trojans went 8-5 ATS last season, covering three of their last four games. The offense wasn’t a typical Lincoln Riley offense, finishing just outside the top 50 (51st) in scoring (30.1 ppg). Riley will have QB Jayden Maiava back under center after he took over for Miller Moss late last season.
Oregon will reload with Dante Moore at quarterback and a number of transfers around him. The Ducks were one of the best offenses in the country last season and they should be again if Moore develops as planned.
USC Trojans @ Oregon Ducks Predictions
While many don’t think the Ducks will be as good as last year, all Dan Lanning has done in three seasons at Oregon is go 10-3, 12-2, and 13-1. The Ducks are also very difficult to beat at Autzen Stadium. Since 2019, they’ve lost one home game and they are 35-1 over the time frame.
USC is not at a point where it is ready to join the elite in the Big Ten. They may get there, but it’s not this year.
Bet: Oregon Ducks (NA)
Louisville Cardinals @ SMU Mustangs Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Louisville Cardinals | NA | NA | NA |
SMU Mustangs | NA | NA | NA |
This should be a crucial game in the race for the ACC title. SMU is hoping to get back to the ACC championship game. The Mustangs went 11-3 last season and made the College Football Playoffs. The defense lost a ton of production, but a number of key transfers should fill the holes.
QB Kevin Jennings is a dark horse Heisman Trophy candidate. He’s back to lead the offense and to lead the Mustangs against Louisville. Last year, Jennings threw for 281 yards and rushed for 113 more to lead SMU to a 34-27 win over the Cardinals. That was the first meeting between the two schools since 1984. SMU has won all three meetings.
Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm returns four starters on offense and must break in a new quarterback, transfer Miller Moss. The defense must improve against the pass. The Cardinals return all three linebackers but must revamp the secondary. Brohm is hopeful the transfer portal took care of that.
Louisville Cardinals @ SMU Mustangs Predictions
The Cardinals played for an ACC title in Brohm’s first season in 2023. SMU played for the conference title last season. Both programs are trending upward, but the difference in this one will be defense.
Louisville finished in the top 15 in both scoring offense (36.5 ppg, 11th) and total offense (449.2 ypg, 13th), but the defense was not up to par. The Cardinals went 9-4 last year but 7-6 ATS. SMU only returned two starters from last year, but the Mustangs have a number of players with game experience. That defense will be the difference in this one.
Bet: SMU Mustangs (NA)
Missouri Tigers @ Oklahoma Sooners Odds
Team | Moneyline | Spread | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Missouri Tigers | NA | NA | NA |
Oklahoma Sooners | NA | NA | NA |
This old Big Eight Conference rivalry rekindled last year when Oklahoma became a full-time member of the SEC. It was the first time in 13 years the two teams met and it was a doozy. Oklahoma led most of the game until Missouri scored 14 points in the final 1:05 to grab a 30-23 victory.
The Sooners hold the lead in the series, 67-25-5. Oklahoma has won 20 of the last 23 meetings, though Missouri has won two of the last three. All three Missouri wins came at home in Columbia. Prior to last year’s win, the last time Missouri beat Oklahoma was in 2010.
The Tigers will reload after a 10-3 season in 2024. Former Penn State QB Beau Pribula will take over at quarterback for Missouri. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz brought in WRs Kevin Coleman and Xavier Lloyd in the transfer portal. Missouri’s defense was outstanding last year and seven starters return. Plus, the Tigers brought in six FBS starters at other schools last year.
Oklahoma got new QB John Mateer in the transfer portal. Four offensive linemen return as does WR Deion Burks. The defense returns six starters and should have the pieces needed to put together a formidable unit this season.
Missouri Tigers @ Oklahoma Sooners Predictions
After a 6-7 campaign last year, Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables is looking for marked improvement. New OC Ben Arbuckle came with Mateer from Washington State and that should be a huge upgrade on offense. Oklahoma was 114th in total offense last season.
This late in the season, the better defense rises to the top. Missouri finished 17th in total defense (317.5 ypg) and 20th in scoring defense (20.4 ppg) last year. The Tigers return most of their production on defense from a year ago.
The Oklahoma defense could be even better and the Sooners have the more experienced quarterback. Oklahoma rebounds from its mediocre 2024 and gets revenge for last year’s loss at home in 2025.
Bet: Oklahoma Sooners (NA)
