Just like in Week 2, the first game for Week 3 of the 2024-25 NFL season is an AFC East battle between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets. And, like all Thursday Night Football games, NFL bettors and fans can watch the game on Amazon Prime Video.
One of the most noteworthy aspects of NFL Week 3 is that there will be two Monday Night Football games. The NFL decided to add a few weeks during the season where there will be two MNF matchups to watch. Although they won’t admit it, this is largely due to some awful matchups last year.
The first of the two MNF games will see the Buffalo Bills host the Jacksonville Jaguars. It’s going to be a raucous crowd in Buffalo as the Bills Mafia show up and show out. The second game, which starts 45 minutes later, will see the Washington Commanders head to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals.
Perhaps, the most exciting game of the week is a potential Super Bowl 59 clash between the Baltimore Ravens and the hosting Dallas Cowboys. The Sunday Night Football matchup features Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons hosting Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
With that in mind, NFL Week 3 Odds are not available as of yet. This means that there’s still plenty of time to examine our NFL betting analysis for information and predictions on the NFL Preseason, players, all 32 NFL teams, Divisions, Conferences, and the 2025 Super Bowl.

Key NFL Week 3 Games
With Week 3 of the NFL season featuring all 32 NFL teams, there are a few key Week 3 games that stand out from the rest:
Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts
This game features two exciting, young quarterbacks as Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears take on Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts.
Richardson missed most of last year with a shoulder injury and is going to be expected to lead the Colts to a winning record this year. For Indy, they could enter Week 3 down 0-2 on the season. The Colts play the Texans in Week 1 and the Packers in Week 2. That’s two tough games. So, they may just be the more desperate squad.
The Bears open their season with three straight games against the AFC South. It’s entirely possible that Chicago starts off the year at least 2-1 if they can pick up this victory in Week 3. If Williams fulfills the lofty expectations being placed on him, the Bears might just springboard to a 3-0 record courtesy of the AFC South.
The Colts lead this series with a 25-19 record. Indy has won the last two matchups but are just 1-3 in their last four home games against the Bears.
Will the Bears extend their road success at Indy or will the Colts protect their house?
Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys
This game will be the most anticipated match up of the week. You have two highly talented teams looking to get a big win and show the rest of the league that they’re one of the best.
Of course, the Dallas Cowboys will want to win in Jerry’s World and protect that home field advantage. But the Baltimore Ravens have owned this head-to-head series. In six meetings, the Ravens are 5-1 against the Cowboys.
They last played in 2020, and the Ravens won 34-17. The Cowboys are 1-1 at home against Baltimore. Can the Cowboys beat an upper echelon team or will the Ravens claw their way to an impressive road win?
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams
Week 3 will also feature a key NFC West battle between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams. These two teams have played against each other 150 times and it’s the 49ers that hold the advantage with a 78-69-3 record.
What’s even more notable is that San Francisco has dominated this rivalry in recent years as they have won nine of the last 11 games. In fact, the 49ers are 5-1 in their last six trips to Los Angeles to play the Rams.
Although Los Angeles did beat the 49ers last year in the final week of the season, the 49ers were pretty much already resting for the postseason. So, this game doesn’t really count in our books.
Will the Rams upstage their NFC West rivals, or will the 49ers continue their streak of domination against LA?
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Week 3 Sunday Night Football matchup will have plenty of intrigue as the Kansas City Chiefs will play their first road game of the season and the Atlanta Falcons will host their biggest primetime matchup in several years.
The Falcons are expected to win the NFC South after adding QB Kirk Cousins in the offseason. The quarterback position was the team’s weakest link last year and this Atlanta team has plenty of talent on both sides of the ball to be a Playoff contender.
The Chiefs are most likely going to win the AFC West again this year. In fact, they could sleepwalk through divisional play and still go unbeaten in the West. Kansas City holds a 7-3 advantage in this head-to-head series, including winning the last two matchups.
Will the Chiefs remain unbeaten on the year or will the Falcons pick up a huge early-season victory?
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Buffalo Bills
As mentioned above, Week 3 will feature two Monday Night Football games. The first game emanates from Western New York as the Buffalo Bills host the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This is a bit of a revenge game for the Bills. It will certainly feel that way for the fans. Last year, in Week 5, Buffalo lost to the Jaguars in London. However, they also lost star LB Matt Milano for the year with a brutal leg injury. The Bills suffered numerous key injuries that week and it nearly destroyed their season.
Jacksonville would go on to fade down the stretch, but they do hold a 3-1 record over the Bills over the last four meetings. Buffalo will have extra time to prepare for this matchup as they play against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football in Week 2. The four extra days will provide the team with plenty of time to rest and get ready for this primetime matchup.
Can the Jaguars continue their winning ways against the Bills or will Buffalo avenge their loss from last year?
Washington Commanders vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The second Monday Night Football matchup isn’t as exciting on paper as the Jaguars vs. Bills, but it does feature a battle of former LSU quarterbacks and it will be an indicator as to how mentally tough the Cincinnati Bengals are after a Week 2 game at Kansas City.
As we all know, Joe Burrow is the leader of this Bengals team and the former LSU QB is back after missing most of last year due to a wrist injury. Cincy will need to keep pace with the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North if they want a shot at the divisional crown. That means they must win the easy games on paper, like this one.
The Washington Commanders are projected to finish in the NFC East basement. Yet, they do have an exciting and dynamic rookie at quarterback, former LSU QB Jayden Daniels.
These two teams have played against each other 11 times and they’re tied with a 5-5-1 record. However, the Bengals are 3-1-1 in the last five meetings.
Which LSU QB will get the win: Burrow or Daniels?
