As an underdog the Bobcats went 2-2 both ways and made one unit: 43-36 at UTSA at +165 and 41-14 at Southern Miss at +135. The two underdog losses were at Arizona State, 15-34, and the James Madison game.

Only 14 FBS teams scored more than Texas State’s 36.08 a game, and it allowed 30.58. Texas State’s totals went over seven times in 12. Home and road were alike against the spread, two covers in six each.

The season ended with a 41-10 win over Rice in the Armed Forces Bowl.
