The Greyhounds covered more often than not in 2025-26, 16 of 30, yet blind moneyline support lost 10.10 units, and only 47 Division I teams lost more that way. They won 5 of 22 as underdogs and covered half of them.

The spread and the moneyline disagree

Loyola went 12-20 straight up and 16-14 against the spread. As underdogs, 22 times, they won five and covered 11, and the 21 priced underdog moneylines lost 9.54 units. Road games carried the same split: 3-13 straight up, 8 covers in 16, and 8.02 units lost on the 15 priced road moneylines.

The next two months were the Greyhounds’ best: 8-9 straight up, 11 covers in 17. The plus-money wins came here: 84-76 at Army (+160), 77-68 over American (+150), 68-54 at Lafayette (+136), 76-62 at Holy Cross (+102).

The opponents

Colgate won all three meetings with Loyola, ending its season 90-77 in the Patriot League quarterfinal, though Loyola covered two of the three. Navy won both meetings by 16 and 27, no covers. Holy Cross lost both, both covers, 1.48 units.

As favorites

Eight times favored: 5-3, five covers, 0.57 units lost. The worst was the third game of the season, 64-66 at home to NJIT at -650. The other two were the VMI game and a 77-87 home loss to Army at -218, a month after the road win there.

The total

Over beat under 17-13 in Loyola games, 56.7%, a rate 63 teams beat. All three Colgate games went over, the 98-101 road loss by 48.5 points against a 150.5 total.
