Backing the Tigers blind in 2025-26 made 13.06 units over 29 priced games, and only 12 Division I teams made more. Not one month lost money, and the road alone returned 10.73 units.

Five months, five profits

Tennessee State made 2.05 units in November, 5.55 in December, 1.81 in January, 2.44 in February and 1.21 in March. December’s figure came mostly from one night: 63-60 at UNLV at +600 in the Jack Jones Classic.

Underdogs on the road

The Tigers were underdogs 11 times, won six and covered eight, and those 11 moneylines made 10.29 units; 18 teams made more as underdogs. All six of those wins came on the road: 75-73 at UNC Asheville (+205), 70-64 at Chattanooga (+300), 96-86 at Lindenwood (+164), and 79-71 at Southeast Missouri State (+140). The 17 priced road games made 10.73 units in all, a figure only 11 teams beat.

As favorites the Tigers were steadier than spectacular: 14-4, ten covers in 18, and 2.77 units on the 18 priced games, a return 28 teams beat. The worst of the four favorite losses was 53-80 at Alabama A&M at -192.

Against the spread

The Tigers went 23-9 and covered 18 of 29, 62.1%; only 24 teams covered more often. Eleven of those 18 covers came in 17 lined road games. At home it was 5-5, with misses as big favorites over Morehead State (-7.5), Southern Indiana (-8.5) and Eastern Illinois (-9.5).

The finish

Tennessee State closed with six straight wins and six covers, two of them at UT Martin and Southeast Missouri State as underdogs, then won the OVC tournament: 68-55 over UT Martin and 93-67 over Morehead State. UT Martin was beaten three times, all covers. In the NCAA tournament Iowa State won the first-round game 108-74.
