New Mexico St Aggies

The Aggies opened 2025-26 by winning all six November games and then went 2-8 in January, losing 6.8 moneyline units in that month alone. As favorites New Mexico State won only 9 of 17.

The January collapse

Three of the eight January defeats came at home in a week, all as favorites: Missouri State 84-75 at -285, FIU 81-78 at -285, and Delaware 73-64 at -950. The month went 3-7 against the spread. Going into January the moneyline stood 0.68 units down; that one month cost 6.8 of the 8.02 lost over 28 priced games, a season total only 78 Division I teams fell below.

At home they were 10-5 and covered 6 of 12; on the road, 3-8, covering 5 of 11 and losing 5.4 units. The rest came at neutral sites, including the Cancun Challenge wins over UC Irvine and Georgia State.

Opponents

Jacksonville State was beaten three times out of three, including a CUSA tournament first-round game, with two Aggie covers; a unit on the Aggies in those games made 2.34. Missouri State, FIU, Liberty and Middle Tennessee each won both of their meetings, though the Aggies covered both against Liberty. Sam Houston ended the season, 69-61 in the CUSA quarterfinal.

Sixteen overs and 13 unders, an over rate that ranked behind 86 teams in Division I. The two highest totals of the season, 159.5 against FIU at home and at Kennesaw State, both stayed under.
