Boise St Broncos

The Broncos beat San José State twice in 2025-26, by 31 and by 15, and then lost to them 84-74 in the Mountain West tournament at -1600. That loss closed a season in which backing Boise State as favorites cost 0.91 units despite a 15-5 record.

The San José State game

Boise State went 20-12. Nothing in the two league meetings with San José State hinted at what came next: 89-58 on the road at -900, 84-69 at home at -2400. On 11 March, in the Mountain West tournament, the Broncos laid 14.5 at -1600 and lost 84-74.

At -1600, one loss cancels 16 winning tickets.

Short prices at home

The home losses ran the same way, and they started early: the opener went 79-78 to Hawaiʻi Pacific, a non-Division I side, with no line posted. UNLV won 86-83 there on 13 February at -675. Grand Canyon won 75-58 on 7 January at -395. As favorites the Broncos went 15-5, and backing them across those 20 games still cost 0.91. Over all 29 priced games the moneyline lost 0.73.

Where they paid

The plus prices went the other way. As underdogs Boise won at Butler 77-68 at +136, beat Saint Mary’s 68-67 on a neutral floor at +120 and won 91-90 at New Mexico at +170. They covered 6 of 10 as underdogs.

Seventeen covers in 30 lined games, 56.7%. Road: seven in 11. Home: eight in 15. March went 2-1 against the number, the one miss being that tournament loss; January, 4-5 straight up and 5-4 against the spread, cost 3.58 moneyline units.

Mountain West opponents

UNLV, Grand Canyon and Utah State won both meetings and covered both. New Mexico, Colorado State and Wyoming lost both and Boise covered all six. Nevada split, its win 81-66 with Boise at -162.

The total

Seventeen overs and 13 unders, no lean. The widest miss on the total was the 110-107 loss at San Diego State, 78.5 points over a posted 138.5.
