The last stretch was the strongest. From February through the Ivy League final the Quakers covered eight of nine, finishing with 62-60 over Harvard getting 3.5 and 88-84 over Yale getting 9.5, the title game.

Thirteen unders in a row

From 17 January to the Ivy semifinal on 14 March, all 13 Penn games went under. Only two teams in Division I finished with a higher under rate than Penn’s 20 in 27. The Yale final, 88-84 against a total of 144.5, was the first over since 10 January.

Backing Penn to win

A unit on Penn in each of 27 priced games made 8.48, a total only 24 teams beat. March alone made 6.4, 4.0 of it from the Yale final at +400. Cornell supplied 3.99 more: two Penn wins, both as underdogs, 91-81 at +275 and 82-76 at +124.

Harvard was met three times and covered against all three times. Illinois beat Penn in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
