Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners

College Basketball

The Roadrunners were underdogs 26 times in 2025-26 and won three, each at a long price: +440, +400 and +270. They then lost their final 15 games.

The three upsets

Cal State Bakersfield’s moneyline season comes down to three nights. On 30 November it beat Fresno State 76-71 on a neutral floor at +440. On 23 December it edged Idaho 64-63 at home at +270. On 3 January it won 81-79 at UC Davis at +400, the only road win of the year in 14 tries.

Those three paid 11.1 units between them. The other 23 underdog games were all defeats, and the 26 underdog moneylines together lost 11.9; only 19 Division I teams lost more as underdogs.

Fifteen in a row

After a 67-66 home win over UC Riverside on 8 January, the Roadrunners did not win again: 15 straight defeats through 7 March, including 0-7 in February. The spread kept some of them close enough: six of those 15 were covers, three of them in a row from 26 February to 5 March.
