Texas Tech Red Raiders

The Red Raiders won four of their nine games as underdogs in 2025-26, three of them at +360 or longer, and those wins made 7.15 units. Only 28 Division I teams did better backing their underdog games.

Three long prices

Texas Tech beat Duke 82-81 at a neutral site at +360, won 78-75 at Arizona at +360, and won 82-73 at Iowa State at +400. Each of those three paid more than the 20 priced games as favorites lost between them, 1.36 units.

Over all 29 priced games a unit on the Red Raiders made 5.79, a return 37 teams beat. Away from home it made 4.22 on a 5-5 record; at home, 14-2, only 0.36.

When it came

February was the month: 6-2 straight up, 6-2 on the spread and 6.55 units, Arizona and Iowa State included. November was the reverse, 6-2 straight up but 1-6 against the number, with home misses as favorites of 19.5 points or more against Sam Houston, Milwaukee and Wyoming. December added 3.1 units, the Duke win worth more than all of it. March went 0-3: TCU won 73-65 at home at -425, then BYU and Iowa State in the Big 12 tournament.

The spread

Fifteen covers and 16 misses, with one game unlined. At home the Red Raiders lost twice in 16 games but covered only 8 of 15. As favorites Texas Tech covered 10 of 22, including a 72-67 loss at Arizona State at -375; as underdogs, 5 of 9.

Opponents and the total

Houston split two meetings and Texas Tech covered both. Iowa State also split, the second a 75-53 loss in the Big 12 tournament. Unders led overs 18 to 14. Texas Tech scored 80.41 a game, and 75 teams in Division I put up more. In the NCAA tournament the Red Raiders beat Akron 91-71 and lost 90-65 to Alabama.
